I stayed in the hotel with two of my colleagues for 2 nights, 3 days in December. We chose Park Plaza because of its convenient location, across from Amsterdam Centraal. It was very easy to transport to Schiphol Airport with the train. In my room, I can see the street; but one of my colleagues had a terrible view of indoor garden or something like that. The cleaning was excellent. The room and the towels were clean.
It was very cold in the outside but the heating was very good in the room. Breakfasts were delicious. During check-in and check-out receptionists were very quick and helpful.
You may also shop in the souvenir shop next to the hotel.

Me and my boyfriend (24 & 26) stayed at the hotel for three nights in July 2008. The hotel's location is perfect being so central, and it is very easy to find once you leave centraal station as it is pretty much straight in front of the station. We found all the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The lobby area is very nice as are the bar and restaruant areas.

We had a room on the inside of the hotel so heard no street noise at all which was great. The room itself was nicely decorated but a bit on the small side. The bathroom could definately have done with an update but on the whole was clean.

I wouldn't recommend paying the extra for breakfast, we ate in the hotel on our last day and it was outrageously expensive and the food was nothing special. There are plenty of lovely pancake houses nearby which are much more reasonably priced. The hotel's pool was a good bonus, however I would recommend taking flip-flops as the floor in the ladies changing room obviously hadn't been cleaned that day as it was covered in hair!

On the whole this is a nice hotel, its location is fantastic.

Booked 2 rooms here for my sisters and a friend. We travelled on the train from Brussels. As it is in Dam Square, we were out of the train station and into hotel in no time. Reception area is small but check in was quick. Our rooms were lovely. Would def come back here. The leisure facilites were great. We stayed for 2 nights. We had some cocktails in the bar - pricey though. Overall, it was expensive but worth it as we were staying only 2 nights and its location is great. I would stay here again whenever I get a chance to go back to Amsterdam. It is a beautiful clean city.

We stayed here for two nights in July 2008. The location is excellent and perfect if you have an early train journey the next morning! The reception and lobby is very nice, however I thought that the rooms let the hotel down a bit and need refurbishing. We stayed in the garden wing, and as I'd read some reviews on here, I was aware some guests had seen mice in this area of the hotel. I didn't see any myself, but there were some strange noises in the room during the night!
We didn't eat at all in the hotel, but in a nice italian restaurant (if you stand facing the hotel, turn right and you'll find it up a side street). We also ate breakfast on the same street in a pancake place. I think this was all much cheaper than eating in the hotel.

Overall I would recommend staying in the hotel if you need to be near the station, but otherwise next time I would try somewhere else.
