“Perfect Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2014

This hotel is in such a great spot.; 10 minute walk to Central Station. We were fortunate enough to stay in the Bootz suite which is large and has been redone. It has a wonderful living area at the front where we sat and played cards with friends in the evening. There's even a fridge to keep your beer cold. All of the staff is very pleasant and helpful. Zsoka deserves a special thanks for looking after us so well. She manages to get coffee and tea at breakfast and keeps the front desk going all at the same time. It was so nice to pass her smiling face each day. She is definitely a gem. We will return.

Room Tip: It really depends if noise at night disturbs you. Our friends room was large and at the front. Noise...

This hotel was a real find. Tucked away in a side street just off Dam Sq, close to everything the avid sight seer would need. We went at Easter so it was extremely busy in Amsterdam and Dam Square hosted a carnival which we could see from our room but didn't affect us at all negatively. We had everything on our doorstep...literally. A great little bar which served a myriad of beers, a cake shop with the most divine looking cakes and on the corner of the street a cafe specialising in hot chocolate. The staff in the hotel were so friendly and hardworking, breakfast was delicious - fresh breads, pastries, meats and cheeses plus fruit and yogurt. Perfect start to the day. Yes, the room was small...but Amsterdam is such a busy place we weren't bothered...bed was sooooo comfy and the room was spotless. A nice little touch in reception is the complimentary coffee and apples for you to take when you are heading off for the day. Free wifi was a bonus too. 10 minutes walk from Central Station...and you could literally go without "public transport" for the weekend if you locate yourself here! :-)

We had a very pleasant stay. The accommodations are simple but clean and comfortable. The breakfast exceeded our expectations and the location is outstanding. The staff were extremely helpful. We'd stay there again!

Easy walking distance of Centraal Station, Dam Square, Anne Frank House and Red Light district. Our room on the ground floor was very small, as was the shower room, and claustrophobic. Basic continental breakfast, no pastries. Tea and coffee facilities in room but had to ask at Reception for replenishments. Wifi very good.

Room Tip: No views from ground floor rooms

Short walk from central station brings you to the hotel up a small lane just off Dam square. Very welcoming and Zsoka was extremely helpful. Room was very clean and we overlooked the lane. reception neat and tidy breakfast is a buffet continental type but lots to eat. There is a lift to the three floors. The small pub next door made us welcome. It is a short walk to Red light area and restaurants all over each one very competitive and good food had Mexican Italian Argentinian and went back to the Mexican more for the Margaritas which were really good. Visited all the usual places used the hop on hop off bus to great extent and also to familiarise yourself with the area. The Canal boat trip also worth a try and the museum district really good visited van Gogh. The hard rock café in this area as well so have a lunch there. In the red light area other than "the windows" visit the museum of prostitution makes you "think" and you can have a laugh as you sit in a "red window" watching the people go by all in all a great few days

The staff was great and the breakfast good, but the rooms were small. I loved the location and the ability to walk to restaurants, museums, shops, and the like. It's located in an alley and the room was very quiet.

I would stay here again.

We got this hotel very, very cheaply. That's the only reason for giving it as many stars as we gave it.

The pros: The hotel is an easy walk from the train station. The staff are very pleasant. The rooms are generously sized with a good amount of power outlets and amenities such as chairs and table space. The shower and bathroom were very good.

The cons: Cleaning was below par. The little decorative throw blanket at the foot of the bed had some sort of gross stain on it -- I don't want to know what it was, I put it in a corner and told the cleaning staff to take it and clean it. It never returned to the room. I'm glad there were duvet covers! The beds were not comfortable. The towels were tiny and threadbare. The carpet was very worn and dirty. The breakfast was *terrible* with awful American style coffee, industrial pastries, sliced deli meat and lukewarm yogurt. Even though breakfast was included in our room rate, we actually paid to eat somewhere else on our last day.

Management has a lot of work to do to make this property worth their asking price.

I only recommend this hotel for young people on a short holiday to get drugs and prostitutes. And our hotel appeared to have plenty of young people making plenty of noise.

If I ever know anyone going on a family trip, I would recommend staying outside of central Amsterdam - maybe over by the museums. It's a much nicer atmosphere there.
