My wife and recently stayed for 3 nights for a short break (our first visit to Amsterdam).
First impressions were good. After an early flight from Stansted and the efficient Train and Bus service in Holland, we arrived at the hotel much earlier than expected. To our surprise, our room was ready for us. We were quite expecting to have to leave our luggage and return later to check in.
As mentioned in other reviews, the Hotel is quite a way out of town, but we found the walk quite pleasant along the edge of a residential area then through the park into the Joordaan district. We managed to do this in 30 minutes (but I will admit that we walk quickly).
We were on level 7 of the Hotel with a room at the rear that afforded lovely views over Amsterdam. Although the hotel is near to the railway tracks, there were no problems with noise whatsoever.
We only had one evening meal in the Hotel and found this to be very good value for money.
All in all, a very nice short break in a nice clean hotel. What more can you ask for? We also had glorious weather for early September!
