“Great location and quiet rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

Great location! Just 7 minutes walk from Central Station and very close to Dam Square. Staff is very nice and helpful. We asked for a room not facing the street and it was really quiet. Transportation is very easy since the tram stop is in front of the hotel. Walking distance to many attractions.

Very nice hotel, extremely nice rooms. Breakfast was just amazing and the staff were EXTREMELY helpful. Had special pancakes on breakfast from the waitress just because I asked if there's any other desserts.
On the front desk there's a guy called Tarek. This man is one of the most helpful people I ever saw; without asking anything in return, be treats you in a very special way.
Enjoyed my stay there, and would go there again if I had the chance.

Stayed for 2 nights. It is a 5 minute walk from the central station on a Main Street and in a safe area. Our room was on floor 5 but limited views of the city.

Our room was very clean with a king size bed. It contained a small table and writing desk as well as 2 chairs. This tended to make the room a bit crowded. The bed was very comfortable but it would have been nice to have a top sheet on the bed as well as the doona. Good wifi in the room and also small jug to make tea and coffee. Our room was very quiet.

The bathroom was good with excellent toiletries. Shower was over the bath. We did get a mat for the bath as it was a bit slippery.

Reception staff were very welcoming and assisted in all our enquiries. Reception area was large with lots of comfortable seats.

We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the service in that regard.

We booked through Accor well in advance and got a 40% discount.

Overall, highly recommend this hotel.

For price and location this hotel must be hard to beat in Amsterdam. A short walk from the train station and Dam Square it sits on a nice street with plenty going on nearby. The room was average size but nicely decorated with a good bathroom. I didn't eat or drink in the hotel so cannot comment on that but the service from the front desk staff was always helpful and friendly. There are no safes in the rooms but they do offer the use of free security boxes which are held behind reception. Bags can be held in a secure room if you need to leave them prior to check in or after check out. Would definitely return!

The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the train station and trams stop almost at the front door. There are several bars, cafes and restaurants within 100 metres of the front door including a couple of excellent breakfast cafes. The main canal network, red light district and coffee houses are just minutes away on foot, but the hotel is very quiet and has a relaxing atmosphere. Half price cocktails during happy hour were a welcome treat and staff were very helpful. I would definitely stay here again

This hotel is in a great location but is passed it's sell by date. The decor is faded. We skipped the 23 euro breakfast as there are loads of cafés on the doorstep. The staff are pleasant but quite informal. I would revisit once the hotel has been updated but would give it a miss until then at the current prices. Nowhere near the M Gallery standard.

I can highly recommend this hotel, it is in a great situation, it is very central and close to Dam Square, shops and restaurants. It has a charming bar. The staff were very pleasant and went out of their way to help.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the main thoroughfare
