“Lots of Neighborhood Noise”

We have stayed here 3 times and always ask for a quiet room and there just aren't any. The good news is that this time the banging of the loading dock didn't start until 7 AM.

I agree with the other reviewers that the hotel needs an update. The sinks are inexpensive fake marble that has cracked surfaces and the carpets worn. As with all european hotels the rooms are small for the price.

Stayed for two nights, and although room was quite big and had all the basics, much of the hotel is in desperate need of a refurb. In our room we had stained sink and bath, a curtain with a cigarette burn, taps that moves around the socket and carpets that were aged and parted. Given the central location, I can see why this hotel feels it can charge around £150 per night, but unless it cleans itself up I believe it will find it very difficult to compete against more modern and updated competition. Staff however were very friendly and helpful.

as soon as you enter the hotel you are greeted by just really nice people.
We were able to get into our room at 9:30 A.M.!
The staff could not do enough from making sure we had a toothbrush(lost mine on the river cruise)
to making sure we were satisfied with our room
the location is right by all transportation.
you can walk to THE DAM (go to the Majestic for great Dutch food)
as well as the Anne Frank Museum

In summation we were leaving early and the staff opened before 6A.M. so we could have breakfast

just a great place to stay

Room Tip: it really doesn't matter we were on the 3rd floor

I enjoyed my 4 day stay -upgraded to a suite but by all means not a large room -separate shower room and small toilet cubicle which never seen before in a 4 star good speedy check in reception hallway/stairwell was dated and definitely needing a upgrade refurbishment - like hotel bar great cosy feeling and funished as train compartments- restaurant 23 euro buffet breakfast nice but only advised can order freshly made to order extras on last day -overall good hotel in good location but maybe time for a refurb.

Hotel is a boutique property, with a great location. Stayed in a luxury room and it was not very big

One of the days room was not made up. Complained at 7 pm and was informed they would take care right away. Stayed for 45 min in the lobby and went out for dinner. At 10:15 pm it was still as I had left it in the morning. I gave up. Apologies over the phone were ok, promising to make the rest of my stay better but no special treatment was received despite being a platinum Le Club member (quite obviously no obligation, but it is not unusual to throw a free dinner or breakfast in).

Breakfast is on the expensive side at 23 eur for a quite discrete buffet, but cheaper reasonable alternatives are offered.

I short, not a bad hotel but certainly had a bad day with me on the service side. At the prices they charge, this should not happen often.

This is a superb hotel. We arrived pretty tired but were welcomed with smiles and courtesy. Staff was also very helpful when giving restaurant advice.

The bedroom was very comfortable, and the bathtub was great. Lots of nice toiletries. Plenty of space, a comfortable chair, a desk, a kettle with different varieties of tea and coffee. But most of all an excellent bed. I wish I could sleep in such a comfortable bed whenever I travel.
