The room and bathroom are rather small, but of good quality and well done. A functional hotel right in the heart of the city. We did not have any trouble of the noises wich are to be expected in such a location. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I stayed here on business and wasnt disapointed.

Its about 10mins from the central station and 5 mins from Dam square but there are resturants and shops on the same street.

The hotel is very clean and tidy.

The rooms are dated or are they suppose to be period?

I never stayed for breakfast so cannot comment.

They dont offer evening meals which i cannot blame them for being right in the centre with so much choice.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

Slight down sides - 1. The bar closed at midnight despite having customers in... 2. The TV was to far from the bed.... 3. The hotel was roasting, i slept with the windows open in late November!!

I have no reason not to stay there again however there is so much choice i will give somewhere else a go.

Room Tip: Stay off the tourest route when having an evenin meal.

I have been staying at the Convent Hotel several times a year for the past five years. The location can't be beat and the price is reasonable for a four star hotel. The rooms are clean and slightly bigger than your typical Dutch Hotel. The front desk staff are very helpful, kind, courteous, and pleasant. Overall, really woudn't stay anywhere else.

Great location near main square and canals and a good comfortable hotel, with nice bar for relaxing drinks.

Bed was so comfortable!

Only issue we had that let it down was the heating which never worked even though we were instructed to put at the maximum but was still very cold in the room.

Our company, 7 persons, stayed at the Convent McGallery hotel from 30th November till 2nd December 2012. The hotel had a cosy atmosphere and the people in the reception were helpful and pleasant. The rooms were nice with an excellent bed. Bathrobe and slippers were much appreciated. The breakfast had all ingredients one could wish for and the service there was also good. We were also pleasantly surprised by the service of a free one-hour trip on the canal as well as one free drink in the cosy bar. All in all, we enjoyed very much our stay at this hotel and would like to go back on a later occasion.

Room Tip: A bit noisy to have room close to the elevator

After reading several hotel reviews we booked the convent hotel, when we arrived there was a bit of a queue at reception but they soon booked us in, but the best thing was we arrived round 9am in the morning and once checked in we're able to go straight to our rooms, this was great as we had got up at 3am the same morning.

Breakfast was amazing, everything we had wanted, I left each morning full up. Even my husband who is extremely fussy eater, had three plate full's. I have never seen him eat so much, it was really good.

The hotel is in the best location and walking distance of everything, although we found the best way round was the canal bus.

Bed were amazing very comfortable, and soft, lots of pillows and large duvet.

The only problem I found with the room was the fact you have to pay extra for the TV? And also there was no safe in the room.

We dragged our luggage from the train station right down the street. After that, it was smooth sailing. The staff was fantastic. Simon the bellman gave us great tips on restaurants. The front desk staff arranged for tickets to museum's and a cab ride to the airport. They even mailed a letter for free. The breakfast is very good.

The room, 323, is OK. It was quiet, faced inside, so we slept good. It is on the smaller side and had some interesting bathroom arrangements, but everything was functional. The TV had a good selection of English channels and a sleep timer.

Then again, get out of the hotel and see the sights. This is a great location.
