We recently stayed at the Park Hotel, Amsterdam overnight before our Scandinavia/Russia cruise. I had received a good overview of the hotel from a friend of mine who had stayed there a couple of months ago. My friend did not mislead me. The hotel was fabulous. The decor is very art deco and funky and the rooms and public areas very very clean. We had no problems with the showers as has been suggested in previous reviews and the beds were very comfortable and accomodating after our 10 hour journey. Our room overlooked the canal and there was vitually no street noise.

On arrival the front desk staff were extremely courteous and were very helpful in giving us directions. It was my first trip to Amsterdam and my friends 2nd after many years and the hotel is so convenient with the park right next door and within walking distance to EVERYTHING.

Try the Park!

This is a charming hotel in a wonderful location off of Leidseplein. Next to the Van Gough and Rijksmueum (make sure you get your tickets online for those museums before you go). It is across the street from the ticket booth to the canal tours. Staff was helpful, rooms were perfect size (nothing too large) and you cannot beat the location. The tram station is right around the corner. We were glad we stayed there.

stayed at the park hotel april 09....reception is lovely and staff very friendly! we were early arriving 9am and the hotel check in was 12...they made every effort for us and we were in our room by 10:30!!!! room was lovely not huge but was perfect for us!! restaurant was also lovely a bit hard to get a reservation though!!! location was perfect couldnt stress that enough....everything a tourist wants to see is nearby! 10/10

I booked a two night stay at the Park Hotel through Last Minute.Com. I booked a Twin room but on arrival i was allocated a double. When i asked for a room change to a twin the reception staff advised me that they didn't have any Twins, unless i paid 50Euros (25 per night) to upgrade to a superior room, more annoying was the receptionist said this was a common problem!
This is a nice hotel, location, cleanliness and security could not be faulted, but 50Euros for a room that i thought i'd booked was a little steep.

Let yourselves down there!

Will be booking/staying elsewhere next time.
