“Fantastic first stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

We booked this hotel through the Secret Escapes website for our first visit to Amsterdam. We had an executive canal view room which was excellent. Check in was quick. The room was fantastic. Breakfast was good. Hotel is close to several museums and also the sightseeing buses & canal boats. The Living Room area downstairs was comfortable. Staff were always very attentive & polite. We would book this hotel again. Only one word of warning- mini bar prices were very expensive as were drinks from the hotel bars. We had a meal at The Hard Rock Cafe which was excellent too.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for mini break after New Year, i cant find any fault with it, i did expected the room to be small on the side with toilet and shower on show but thought it was great and quirky!! Bed was amazing, we were gutted we couldnt take it home with us! :) Hotel was fab, clean and cosy. Location was fab, we got the bus 197 from the airport, 10-15mins, we walked everywhere from the hotel, didnt need trams, only downside was Amsterdam was very expensive!! Definitely go back to the hotel, and a better view of the city next time as i only got the back view, but we wasnt in the room most of the time anyway so its didnt bother us. There is a nice Irish bar over the road next to Hard Rock Cafe.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights on the weekend before Christmas (2013).

As it was a special occasion (my 27th birthday and I proposed in the city) we upgraded the room to the split-level suite.

The suite was fantastic, highly impressive and a real haven. If you're looking for a luxury option and willing to part with a bit extra money then I would definitely advise an upgrade.
Otherwise, we thought the whole decor of the hotel was sleek and modern and the location was ideal with all we wanted to see within walking distance.

The staff couldn't have been nicer and I can't thank them enough for all their help prior to our arrival in helping to organise the upgrade and restaurant reservations.

Both my partner and I would recommend this hotel to all visiting the city and will be sure to stay again when we next visit Amsterdam.

Stayed here in December for a weekend and loved it, check in was quick and easy, the hotel is stunning and the room was better than expected. The staff were also very polite and friendly. I'd be more than happy to stay here again.
Thank you for such a lovely stay.

You couldn't get a better location to stay in Amsterdam than this. Accross the road is a ticket office for canal cruises, hard rock cafe and a casino. The Van Goch museum and Dimond museum is a 5 minute walk away. Walk in he other direction and you will come to the famous flower market. Very convient with trams getting you around. The hotel staff were very friendly and were keen to accommodate our every need. The room was comfortable and there were teas and coffees. Note to english travellers, there is no milk so you need to drink it black or bring your own. There are also no biscuits like most hotels give, so bring your own. We thought the breakfast option of 23 euros was a bit excessive so we bought croissants at the local supermarket down the road instead and also had a pancake at one of the places by the flower market on one of the days. I would stay here again. Really recommend it.

Room Tip: We stayed in the older part of the hotel and it was very nice. We couldn't figure out how to pu...

We got an early bird room for a very reasonable price. Well worth it. Fantastic location, short walk from Leidsplein where most the trams run so you can get pretty much anywhere. Hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable.

We stayed here for one night during a two day trip to Amsterdam, the staff were friendly and polite and it was very easy to check in. Lobby/lounge was lovely, we stayed in an executive room - nice size, stylish and modern, great bathroom - immaculate and good size too. Bed was huge and very very comfortable ! Location couldn't have been better. One negative point and really only very small....there was a daily charge of 9 euros for WIFI which I wouldn't expect from a hotel like this. Otherwise no complaints at all, definitely recommend and would love to stay again !

Room Tip: Some of the rooms have 'open bathrooms' so beware when booking if privacy is an issue, also...
