“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2013

I stayed here for 2 nights with my daughter. We choose it because of its location and because it looked a smart hotel with good reviews.
Upon arrival, the foyer is impressive and has a modern and relaxed feel. However the receptionist could not initially find our booking. When she did find it she was quite frosty and not friendly at all. When we got to our room, we were met with the smell of marihuana. Not what you'd expect in a hotel of this standard! We opened the windows and the smell soon went. The room itself was comfy and pleasant, good toiletries by the sink. The shower was exhausting! Very loud and fast, you came out shattered.
Other than the minor problems I've mentioned, we had a nice stay at the Park Hotel. The foyer was very comfy to sit in, the room was good, and everything we wanted to see and do in Amsterdam was not too far away.

I recently got married in Amsterdam, and needed a hotel room for the wedding night. Chose this hotel as it is just around the corner from my home (where we had several guests staying).

The service could not have been better. Staff treated us with genuine care and attention, and kindly provided a complimentary and unexpected upgrade to a truly wonderful suite.

Some of my family also stayed several nights in this hotel, and were equally pleased with their room and level of service displayed by the staff.

For visitors of Amsterdam, the location is great; near the park, the museums, high-end retail, and all other tourist hotspots. The lobby has delicious chocolates and treats, and is a nice place to take a break. Hard not to like the food served in Momo. 5 mins walk to the 197 bus stop that will take you to Schiphol Airport in 35 minutes / EUR 4.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have some traffic noise, but also some nice views of city.

If you wish to enjoy the great Amsterdam cultural life, then this hotel locqtion is perfect, next to the Rijskmuseum and the Van Gogh museum but if you prefer a large bedroom with separate clean bathrom, then avoid the Park hotel with tiny room and a curtain to separate the lavatory and dirty toilets when we arrive in the room. Of course, Amsterdam is a beautiful city with a rich history and plenty of wonderful mueums to enjoy but also an expensive one so make sure you made the right choice when you must choose your 4 stars hotel depending on your own interest inside the city as there is a huge amount of hotels in Amsterdam and the Park hotel does not offer the best 4 stars quality hotel and the breakfast is expensive so is the MOMO restaurant inside the hotel so my next journey to Amsterdam, I will be more careful in my hotel choice to avoid expensive place like the Park hotel which should be at least more enjoyable.

After deciding to return to Amsterdam for a second time as we couldnt fit all we wanted to visit last year into 1 trip (and will need to come back again as we love this city) - myself and my wife stayed in the leidseplein area again. Having stayed at a nearby hotel on our first trip we went for a similarly rated hotel and chose the Park Hotel. We were more than pleased with our choice as had read poor reviews about the comfort and the rooms being odd.

I must say the room was a fine size for a hotel (you only sleep in it so why need expanse of space?) and the bed was easily one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in, even though it was soft and i prefer a firm bed.

All in all an excellent stay, great facilities and very welcoming staff. Would probably look to the Park Hotel as our base for our next visit.

My wife and I thought this hotel was brilliant. Close to all the cultural spots/museums etc.
The breakfast was excellent and if booked 24hrs before it is reduced.
The room was excellent, bit on the small side but what the hell, bathroom arrangements a bit of an oddity as the shower/toilet is really in the main room so you have to get on well!!
The beds were perfect (for us).
The room was at the rear of the hotel so no complaints regarding noise.

Overall a brilliant break in a brilliant city.

Room Tip: We had a room at the rear of the hotel so very quiet

Hotel rooms in Europe are small - fact! So we took a Junior Suite at the Park Hotel. I'm glad we did so as even it was hardly spacious. Nonetheless this is an efficient four star business hotel. It is a mere 200 metres to the newly renovated Rijkmuseum and to that extent is a perfect location. The van Gogh Museum is a further 5 minutes away and is also an essential visit. But I digress - this hotel is modern, has a strong service culture and MoMo its restaurant has brilliant food at good prices. Breakfast is as hearty as you want to make it. Beds and pillows are wonderful. Every thing worked! Just two words of caution - (1) its central location means it can be noisy so ask for a room facing away from the front street (2) I can't abide paying for the internet ... free WiFi is a right these days and hotels need to be brought to account if they don't provide it. Park Hotel management, this issue needs attention . PS don't forget to take in Rembrandt's House its so worth it.
