We had booked a 'split-level suite' at an exorbitant, non-refundable rate. A steep staircase connected the upper and lower tiny rooms. There were no reading lights, a non-working TV, no door to the toilet, no carpets, etc. We complained and were switched to a smelly smaller room (same price). As we went to bed later that evening, we discovered that our feet were now wet from vomit next to the bed, vomit which had not been cleaned up by housekeeping. We were switched to a third (clean) room the next morning and given a 25% discount and free breakfast. The breakfast room was dreary and reminiscent of Soviet-era style service and food. To add insult to injury, when we came home we realized that we had been double-billed on our credit card. Our advice: stay away!

We had a beautiful renovated room with a balcony- it was fabulous! Although the room was fairly small, the amenities were great: down comforter, good quality sheets, rain shower! The staff was great and very responsive to all of our needs.

The location of the Park is fabulous- seconds from Leidseplein, Museumplein and beautiful Vondel park. Catch a canal cruise right outside the hotel or rent a bicycle from Mac Bike, just steps away.

The hotel bar is a pretty lively place, although it closes pretty early. Plenty of nightlife to be found in nearby Leidseplien.

The hotel is correct, has a very situation near the city center and in a zone full of restaurants and services for the tourists (bike-hiring, boat tours...).

We didn't like at all the way the receptionists treated us. It seemed they were judging people by their look. They asked us for a deposit when they weren't asking other "better looking" customers for it. Why? If our room didn't even have a minibar! They didn't help much when we asked anything and seemed more interested in other people who should leave tips.

However, the staff in the breakfast room were very nice and helpful.

The hotel is also divided in two parts, the older one and a reformed part. But the older one seemed to be of high standing, and we felt unconfortable with the differences.

The room was correct and there wasn't parking available (at least for us) and we had to park 2 streets far from there for 36 euro a day.

My husband and I have just returned from a two night stay at this hotel. We had one of the new refurbished executive double rooms on the 5th floor. While I was a little disappointed with the size of the room (quite small) and the view was to the back, the room itself was extremely clean and contemporary with a very comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was gorgeous with a rain shower (brill). The location was also excellent just five minutes to the Liedlesplain and right beside VondelPark. We didn't eat at the hotel as it was quite expensive relative to what was closeby. The staff were very efficient and couldn't have done enough for us. I would definitely return to this hotel.
