“Sophisticated Amsterdam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

My husband and I stayed at OKURA in September. Our Junior Executive Suite was the perfect place to recover from jet lag. A very comfortable king bed, extra long soaking tub and a Nespresso machine were rejuvenating features for us. The De Pijp neighborhood has a true "locals" feel and it is a wonderful walking area with a lovely park. It is nice sitting outside on the hotel terrace along the canal too. For a great view of the city, don't miss the bar and restaurant on the 23rd floor. There is a tram stop right by the hotel and as easy to navigate as the Tube or Metro.

Room Tip: Rooms are very quiet, we faced the canal.

After having a great stay at the Canal House Hotel, closer to downtown; I had to move to the Okura Hotel to attend business meetings. The hotel is some 30 minutes from downtown... Rooms are fine if you just want to be in Amsterdam for business. The staff is professional and nice. I'll only go back if my meetings in Amsterdam take place here.

A high class hotel. Clean, quite, very friendly staff, high quality. Farily expensive, 6 euro for a small bottle of water, etc. which make you not enjoying the minibar. The biggest disadvantage with the hotel is that it is very off from the town centre and you need to go with the tram (not that easy to know how to go).

I wanted to get away but had to stay in town on business. Booked a nice suit and some japanese massages, we had a great time, superb service and a good breakfast. Enjoyed the view and the free upgrade.

Stayed here on a stop off through Amsterdam - landed early from a long haul flight & the staff at the hotel greeted us & checked us in @ 6.30am.
The room was excellent - large & with a nice view, good coffee facilities and a beautiful bathroom.
An all round excellent place to stay - not too far from the centre if you dont mind walking but tram stop outside the door if you do. Some nice bars/restaurants closebye also.
Definitely reccommend the hotel & will stay here next time we're in Amsterdam.

Check-in was efficient and pleasant. We stayed in room 2118 and it was absolutely beautiful. The view is fantastic and can even be enjoyed from the bathroom. Great eye for detail; Nespresso machine, good sound system, tv in the bathroom, remote for curtains/light, turn-down service.
The executive lounge offers snacks throughout the day and a 180 view over the city.
Spa-facilities are splendid; fitness centre, swimmingpool, whirlpool and sauna.
Breakfast is a must! Not just the usual but an extended breakfast with even japanese food!
Location is in walking distance of the Rijksmuseum and nice restaurant. If you want to go shopping you can easily take various trams.

Room Tip: The higher the floor you're staying, the better view. Preferably a corner room because it's...

We stayed at this hotel when the prices in the central district were very high. Hotel is located near RAI center. We were able to take tram 12 or 25 and get into the city center and to the museums without any problem. Berlin card is a must if you are visiting Berlin and using public transport.
Hotel rooms were great with electronics of all sorts. Service was excellent.
There is a pizza place and a market across the street where you can order food. Hotel restaurants are excellent but pricy as expected with great service.
If you walk out and walk towards RAI center, there are plenty pf good places to eat.
