“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

I am just back from staying at the Okura hotel in Amsterdam. I found this hotel beautiful, very clean and the staff were very friendly and offered great information. The hotel lobby bar was lovely and the twenty third floor bar was brilliant to relax in and had some beautiful views. The rooms had everything you could ask for and more. The restaurants were all really good! We did the spa area and it was lovely and relaxing and clean, I would definitely recommend it. We were out of town by about ten minutes but we didn't mind cause there was a tram right out side that took you everywhere that you wanted to go and it wasn't that expensive. Great hotel.

My spouse and i stayed 5 nights at the Okura in late April. We had joined the LHW's Leaders Club prior to making our reservation which provided us with free daily access to the hotel's sumptuous buffet breakfast, the hotel's inredibly large indoor pool and internet. As a result, our rate was significantly less than most lesser hotels and substantially less than similar 5* hotels. We were also upgraded to a larger room on an executive floor which gave us access to the executive lounge (computer terminal, soft drinks and cookies all day and wine and modest snacks at night). Although all of the extras were greatly appreciated, the best part of our stay was the extremely helpful and friendly staff which included the doorman, reception, housekeeping, concierge, health club staff and the wait staff at breakfast. Although the hotel is at least 30 years old, it is being kept in pristine condition. For some guests the hotel's location may be modestly inconvenient but for us very close access to the tram (1-2 minute walk) made all of the city's top tourist attactions and restaurants within easy access. We also liked being in a very quiet more residential area and there were several reasonable and excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. On all counts our stay was excellent and we would certainly stay there again on our next visti.

I stayed here for business in Amsterdam, literally spent 8 hours in the hotel of which 6 were sleeping so cannot add to much value. I got upgraded to a deluxe room, it was very nice, I had a tv in the bath! Had a nice view over some canals. Bed was comfortable and we had a nice cafe within walking distance where we had a few beers. Check in and check out was easy. Would recommend for business travellers.

I can say this is probably one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The decor is beautiful and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I liked the fact it was not exactly in the city and We used taxis as there were 4 of us so not that expensive. There are trams also. We had dinner in the Serre restaurant which was absolutely one of the best meals I have had in long time. We got a good deal on this hotel as we booked it on secret rooms, about 50% discount for the weekend. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms lovely with excellent views. I would love to return again to this hotel and try the Japanese restaurants.

We stayed at this hotel for just 1 night but it was so worth it!
The rooms are beautiful with a view of Amsterdam.
The bed was so comfy!
We also went to have drinks at the hotel restaurant located on the 23rd floor. You MUST have atleast one drink there if you're staying at this hotel. It has an expansive beautiful view of all of Amsterdam!
The entire hotel is 5 star with excellent service. The staff was very helpful and polite.
The location is not as convenient. It's a bit far from the City Center.
We took Tram 25 toward Centraal Station and got off at "Dam" to get to the city center.

Hotel Okura in Amsterdam was absolutely perfect. We stayed in a junior suite and had acces to the executive floor where we had hors d'heuvres and wine in the afternoon. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Pool area great as well as sauna. Breakfast outstanding.

Not a cheap hotel but the quality of the rooms and service is excellent.

Very pleasant reception staff, the bed was one of the best I’ve ever slept in. We booked one of the executive rooms on the 22nd floor, paid 240 euro per night, very well equipped with amazing views over the city, also free access to the executive lounge where free internet access, snacks & drinks were included in the package.

Taxis into the city centre were plentiful & only cost about 10 eurosl. All in all a very nice stay & depending on your budget I would certainly recommend this hotel when visiting Amsterdam. My only gripe was having to pay an additional 35 euro per night for parking.
