“First Class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2011

The Okura is a first class hotel in all ways. It is probably the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. View of the city from the top floor bar is super.

We had a fantastic night over in the OKURA Amsterdam hotel. One of the great hotels of Holland. A perfect room, perfect service combined with a unique culinary experience in restaurant Ciel Blue made it an unforgettable night. Thank you

My partner and I only stayed one full day and one night, but the service was exceptional!

The staff are so helpful and really go the extra mile, we booked it on lastminute.com and the buffet breakfast was included. Unfortunately our flight was so early we weren't able to make use of our included breakfast buffet, and we informed the staff about this on check-in, asked if there was anything they could do - they said they would try their best. We didnt hear anything more, but on check-out they had breakfast boxes waiting for us to take with us to the airport! And it was a good breakfast too!

We stayed in an executive double room, it was fantastic, and the bathroom - truly one of a kind! It's the only way to describe it! I'm not sure if all the bathrooms are like that or if it is only in the executive rooms.. So make sure you get one! The executive lounge was amazing with lots of free food and drinks (including alcoholic!) and we received free entrance to the Spa facilities there, which was lovely and relaxing.

Close enough to night-life but far enough away to not see it on your doorstep!
I cant wait to go again!

Room Tip: Go for an executive and check out lastminute

I stayed at the Okura for 2 nights while attending a conference at RAI.

The hotel is in a very quiet area on a canal with Japanese Gardens around it.

I had the same problem with this hotel as I have with virtually every '5 star' hotel - it was impersonal, and made even more expensive by being charged exorbitantly for every little extra.

Hotels should take a leaf out of the airline, and indeed Stena Line ferry book - once you pay your room fee everything else should be included. I would always choose such a hotel (do any exist???) even if the initial cost was more.

Otherwise the room had a great view, the room service was fine and the food was fine. The only down side was discovering black mould on the shower curtain just as I wad about to check out.

Simple hotel. I don't think this can be a 5 star hotel. The horrible and annoying thing ? I had a prepaid tariff. I went out for lunch and 1 hour later I have received a message from my bank informing that the hotel was keeping 100 euros as guarantee. They didn't inform me in advance. It was unpolite and unprofessional. The staff is terrible. They could give me any explanation.

Room Tip: Please avoid this hotel. Check the staff befor

The price was about right for the room, it was very large and deluxe as described.
The staff are polite and professional, but room service left a lot to be desired.
Ate at the ground floor restaurant, it was fine but nothing to write home about.
Only negative was location, quite a distance out, tram stop outside, took about twenty mins to centre.
Would stay again if someone else was paying.
