As airport hotels go, the Mercure at the Amsterdam airport was nice. The rooms were decent as you would expect. The staff was friendly. Our room overlooked a garden... there was even a bit of wildlife if you count the bunnies and birds. We had a nice dinner at the restaurant which also looked out on the garden. We heard no airport noise.
It was only about 5 minutes from the airport. Free shuttles ran every 30 minutes and the price was decent. We didn't take the "expresso in your room" option. There was instant coffee in the room and coffee in the lobby. Our flight was early, so we didn't have breakfast. We were in transit going home from Norway, and the hotel at the Amsterdam airport was much much cheaper than airport hotels in Bergen. It was a good option for just transiting through Amsterdam.
