I checked in at Golden Tulip Amsterdam Centre last Sep.7,2009. My room is 2508 which is very nice & comfy. Very quite place to sleep and very clean too. I'm really impressed with the changes in this hotel since my last stay here. Amazing! But to my dismay...when I want to drink coffee from the coffee facility provided in the room, I found a black pubic hair sticking inside the cup. Disgusting !!!

This one is "OK" if you're in a hurry and not with company. You will be disappointed if you don't' get an executive room or better. The rooms are cramped and all in all the place just has a dismal vibe about it. Simply not a comfortable place to stay...there is little to no light in the place, even the halls and lobby are dark. I've stayed here twice and both times the staff were not very appealing people (but then neither would I be if someone left me in a hole to work). It is clean and safe; I just wouldn't recommend it unless you can't find anything else in the area. Be sure to pay the extra for the exec room.

The location was convenient and the staff were courteous. Our room, though small was tastefully decorated, in working order and spotless. We were provided with everything except an iron. I found it to be an excellent value for the money and would definitely stay again.

We stayed 3 nights at the Golden Tulip and loved everything about it !!

First of all, we arrived around 9.30am thinking that we would leave our cases and check in at 3pm. However, we were amazed to find that our room was ready for us - we have never had this happen before - first class !!

The location of the hotel is prefect for the RLD/restaurants (5 mins walk) and trams stop just a few yards away - not a cheap hotel by any means but still good value for money.

We got an Amsterdam All In One travel ticket for 22 euros from the tourist office at Sciphol Airport - this gave us return rail fare to Centraal Station plus unlimited tram/bus travel for 96 hours. Centraal Station is a short walk (10mins max) from the hotel.

Amsterdam is expensive at the moment but we ate in Ghandi's Indian Restaurant on Damrak and it cost £29 which we felt was probably cheaper than a similar restaurant in the UK. We also ate in a couple of good chinese restaurants on Zeedijk.

Nice break made all the better by a good quality hotel in a tremendous location !! Highly recommended.
