“Week Long Stay In Amsterdam”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

Stayed here for a week in November, 2013. The location is absolutely perfect for walkability and access to just about everthing you might want to see. Easy train ride from Schipol to Central Station. Train station is a ten minute walk fro the hotel - and you can drag your suitcase - there are no stairs. Hotel is on a quiet side street away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but to take advantage of what is here it is simply a walk around the corner. Anne Frank House, Flower Market, Red Light District and Museum District are easily walkable. Comfortable, clean room, helpful staff. Perfect all-around stay.

Best location possible in the heart of beautiful Amsterdam, walking distance to some of the major attractions. Very nice clean rooms with very comfortable beds.
Breakfast setting was clean and service was good, nice selection of fresh foods and pastries.
Been to this hotel many times and will definitely go again .

Room Tip: Some rooms are significantly larger than others, so ask for a bigger one .

We had a 2 day conference in the hotel , I arrived in the pm and had to wait around 15 minutes to check in, including one of the hotel staff cutting in front of me with another guest so not a good start. I was given a room in an annex which is reached by taking 2 different elevators. Getting there, I find a room that is dirty (dust mites handing around the ceiling), bathroom around 15c, broken/worn parts everywhere, in short a dump.

I am normally a Marriott fan but this place is a disgrace.

Managed to change rooms the next day but next room that impressive either. My colleagues had similar experiences. At room rates around 250 euro I expect a good experience.

The only positives are the location and a good breakfast.

Room Tip: if you still want to stay there, stay away from the annex, room numbers 900

Stayed in a family room for four nights (4 people). Peaceful and clean hotel. Helpfull staff. Good central location. Booked early and got a really good deal, so great value for money. When booking it was stated that there would be a fridge available in the room but there was only a mini-bar, other than this there wasn't much negative to say about our stay. I would recommend staying here.

I stayed in this hotel for a whole week in Novemeber to attend business meeting. It was a pleasant stay and lovely time though the rooms are smaller (they upgraded me to higher grade room which was bigger). This hotel is located in centre of the city and close to the Central Station (actually just a 2 mins walk). Many important attractions for which Amsterdam is famous are nearby Maddam Tussad Museum, Anne Frank House, Nine Streets etc. etc. There are good restaurants nearly.

Room Tip: room with 9 series are in annex building and therefore not suggestible

I stayed 1 night, and had a day long meeting in one of the meeting rooms and dinner, breakfast and lunch in the restaurant.

I was in one of the 9 series of room numbers which means a trek to a whole other building to get to you room. But, the room is very good. Decent size, comfortable bed and arm chair. Useful desk and chair too for work including 3 pin UK socket. Essentially, exactly what you need when away for business not more, not less. Very comfortable bed too bears comparison with a US hotel in that respect, which is almost unheard of in Europe in my experience. Only complaint is noise up from the street as you are centrally located in a city with an active night life but it didn't negatively affect my stay.

Food was very good at all meals and the meeting room a good size, decent chairs and the all the IT worked - not always true in a great many so called business focused hotels.

I would stay here as a tourist for sure but it is a business oriented hotel so bear that in mind.

We recently stayed at The Renaissance and were very impressed with the hotel. the staff were very friendly and professional, the rooms were modern and very clean. The hotel is very Central and you can walk to many of the attractions in the city. The hotel comes highly recommended.
