Having had to change from the supposedly 4 Star Hotel we booked into just down the road because of its poor state. This was very nice indeed. The hotel has a good location minutes from connecting trams to and from the main station, with plenty going on, shops,bars and resturants. Our room just over the R on the Marriot sign out the front of the hotel was nice and spacious, clean and tidy. The view to the front of the Hotel was lovely. No problems with any noise. The staff were very helpful and friendly and above all courteous. Nothing was to much trouble. Finding rooms available in this hotel made a pleasent stay in Amsterdam after a dreadful start. Despite the weather we would stay here again and would recommend to others. Please note though we did not eat at the hotel preferring to use resturant facilities outside.

Banking on the reputation of Marriot hotels, I booked a weekend at this hotel when I became engaged. The hotel has none of the "european charm" that other luxury hotels in Amsterdam seem to have in abundance.

The multilingual hotel staff was knowledgable and able to make reservations at nearby resturants (a must in amsterdam) and arrange for anything our hearts desired.

This is a good hotel for families or large groups who need "looking after" but I recommend looking elsewhere if you are interested in local flavor.

We spent 2 nights here and found it to be pretty nice. Not a lot of "European Chram" however after 2 weeks at the in laws, I was looking for American comforts. My husband is a platinum member so I have seen my share of Marriotts. While this was not the most luxurious, it was comfortable, clean and the staff was unbelievably friendly. We had an "executive room" and because of the tiny entry way, we were able to put our 2 yo to bed and still read or watch TV. We had a low level room facing the square and had no problem with noise. I also found the breakfast buffet to be very impressive, albeit a little excessive. Regardless, it was a good location and I would absolutely stay there again.

We got this hotel on priceline for the paltry sum of just £42. We were totally surprised because it's a fantastic hotel (and we stay in a lot of hotels), smack bang in the middle of the action, near to Vondelpark and the Museumplein (Van Gogh, Rijksmusuem etc...). Leidseplein is just across street! You can catch a No 1, 2 ,5 tram from central station to Liedseplein. It’s a three minute walk from there.

The beds are very comfortable. The mini bar is well stocked and the prices are more than reasonable... just 7 EUROS for a bottle of wine… nice Merlot too! Great room service, nice lobby, great concierge, bellman etc...

I don't know if I would pay rack rate for this hotel because I never pay rack rate at any hotel anymore… since I discovered priceline.

This is undoubtedly the best deal in Amsterdam at this price. If only it had a swimming pool... never mind... I challenge anybody to complain if they get this hotel.

Tip: Ask for a Leidseplein view!
