“Marriott Amsterdam”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

It was my first to The Netherlands and our stay at Marriott Amsterdam was a delightful experience. We arrived at the hotel on 21 April morning and were pleasantly surprised when Ms Bianca, the Supervisor at the Front Desk kindly checked us in. She was genuinely warm in her welcome and also waived our week's internet charges.

Adam at concierge helped with our bags and was very attentive. In fact we noticed most staff at Marriott were attentive and engaging including serving staff at the Executive Lounge, especially Charles and Florine. Also Tom checked us out the night before our early morning departure on 28 April with no fuss and bother. The morning of our departure, Adam was on duty, noticed us getting into the limo and came over to say goodbye. Our week's stay in Room 1034 at the Marriott, with a great view, was "short" because of the excellent service.

The location of Marriott Amsterdam is great. You could walk across the street to take the trams to Centraal Station, Dam Square, Jordaan, the Flower Market, Albert Cyup Market, the museums, etc. Or you could just walk like we did for some attractions as were blessed with great weather. And just across the street you could take the bus to the airport and hop on to bus 858 to Kuekenhof.

Talking about attractions, one should take advantage of the Concierge service at Marriott. It is the best resource and you can get all that's needed before setting out for the day. We had a nasty experience with GWK Travelex staff at the airport international terminal 3. Trying to get as much information from one of the staff about the Holland Pass was frustrating, to say the least. GWK Travelex website write-up was enticing but the service we experienced was way off the mark. So take advantage of Concierge service!

We stayed through King's Day and it was an experience!

Went for a business trip to Amsterdam. This hotel is well located and no surprises, neither in the quality of staff, food, rooms, etc. what one can expect from a Mariott hotel. Nothing more, nothing less.
Ok for a business trip, but not too charming for a visit in couple i think.

Hotel is on tram and bus connections. Airport bus 197 costs Euros 5 while hotel shuttle cost Euros 16.00. Room access cards are to be renewed every 24 hours for security reasons. We were not told this, so only found out when we could not access both lifts and room.

The hotel is well located very close to the city center and the main museum. It is a typical Marriott hotel, clean, comfy enough and a bit outdated... I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic weekend. It is what you expect from a Marriott hotel, nothing more. So I felt it was average rather than "very good" (e.g. you still have to pay extra to get wifi unless it is included in your business rate)

We spent 5 days at the Marriott Amsterdam and it could hardly have been better. The room was clean, quiet and well appointed and the lounge was excellent for breakfasts and evening cocktails and deserts. The midtown grill is a gem and we were treated like royalty by Claudia and the team. The bone in ribeye was as tender and tasty as a steak can be and the portabello mushrooms were superb.

Room Tip: High floors are best to avoid traffic noise.

Being a Lifetime Platinum Elite Marriott Rewards member, I have stayed many nights in many Marriott properties over the years. Marriott has always provided a comfortable, hospitable stay - punctuated by excellent customer service. During our stay at the Amsterdam Marriott March 25 - 27, the Concierge and Bell staff went well "over-and-above" the norm I have come to expect from prior Marriott experiences. Superb service, courtesy, genuine concerns for guest well-being, and professionalism best summarize the great time we had. If you are looking a bit of pampering in a great hotel setting, I highly recommend this hotel. Give yourself a treat and give it a go.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to a corner room if one is available.

my husband and I have stayed at this hotel four times now and love it. It is perfectly located in the city as you can walk almost anywhere and it's not too far. The food is good, service outstanding, and the beds are very comfortable! You can jump on the train or bus right outside the door to get to the airport, and get around the city. I am sure we will stay here again !
