“Great family trip to Amsterdam for two nights”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

Excellent location close to trams, canals, park, museums & shops. Perfect hotel with very friendly and attentive staff, especially the concierge staff - thank you for all your help and great advice. Very good breakfast too. Hired 4 bikes from hotel for the day - fun & safe cycling around the park & city.
Canal tour was close by - just right. Great shops & restaurants within walking distance - including Nine Streets. Highly recommend a stay here with your family.

Room Tip: Overlooking the tram & canals,

Welcoming staff they go out of there way to help you.Nice clean rooms. Best part is you can take public transport from across the street Bus # 197 to and from airport stops almost right in front of the hotel.

I really like to thanks Ms. Kyra (Asst. Front Office Manager) for all her help while we stayed there and the girl at coffee shop ( sry forget her name)

Very good location across the street from the Casino and a nice open set of restaurants and cafes. Close to the Hard Rock and the Heineken brewery. Given that it's on one of the outer rings of Amsterdam, it's a stiff walk to Dam Square and other more central attractions. Staff is very friendly, especially if you're a Marriott Rewards member (as I am). Rooms are nice, beds comfortable and American-style (i.e. full sheets and blankets, not simply a comforter). Bar/snack area very nice, and the food in that area is good. Have eaten in the attached upscale restaurant and found it to be a bit pricy for the food quality, so I've stuck with burgers/sandwiches/curries in the bar.

Welcoming Lobby with huge parking space & 24hrs of security service.
I don't think any other hotel can beat the location.
A big market place is just the matter of crossing a road, All public transport have their stop/station on the same lane of hotel.
Lobby with high speed wifi, couch & heater is simply awesome.
I found room bit small as compared to the brand name but okay as our rooms were basic ones.
Breakfast range with satisfying & food was good.
overall a good experience.

Room Tip: facing market place (Burger King)

This is what you will expect in a city centre Marriott. very comfortable beds, clean rooms, modern bathrooms and contemporary furnishing. The only slight negative is that the water pressure is a bit low so showers aren't very invigorating. It is well located to walk to the museums and the many restaurants located across the bridge in the Leidseplein. The main restaurant is a steakhouse - very nice but a bit pricey. A couple of appetisers will fill the less hungry just fine for about €25. Steaks if I recall correctly are €30 to €40 with premium cuts / big sizes up to €60.

If you have access to the Executive Lounge, they have a nice selection of foods with wine and beer. A nice thing about the food is that if you stay often or multiple days, the selection does change so it doesn't get boring.

We were 3 and stayed in the king executive room.
I'll start with the Pros:
The hotel is in a great location, a minute walk from the laidzeplain.
The room was very specious, and the beds.... well Marriott never disappoint with the beds. They're the best!
The breakfast was excellent, and the breakfast staff were great.
Cons:
Tiny bathroom. Tiny, and that's for a very large room. Also, if you're over 1.80m, you'll find it a bit challenging taking a shower as the ceiling above the bath is 1.90cm.
The reception staff wasn't that friendly, I had to "prove to her" (her words) that we already paid for 3 pax, and that the breakfast was included in the rate (we booked through hotels.com).
