“Best bed ever slept in .”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Just got back from this hotel , weekend break with friends . The beds are so comfy , did not want to get up . Lovely rooms , central to shops bars and plenty of places to eat. Room was very warm , as it was freezing outside. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: 837 good room nice views

Dear Guest,
We were delighted to read how much you enjoyed your weekend break with us in Amsterdam. Marriott beds are unique in comfort and do make it difficult to get out of. We do offer Marriott beds and linens online at the Shop Marriott store. Thank you for choosing Marriott and we look forward to your next visit.

Kind regards,

This hotel is perfect for tourists. It's only a couple close blocks to the train station and it's located in a very quiet area with a few quaint shops and eateries. Also, there is a canal right outside. Dam Square is a pleasant 10 minute walk, as is the Anne Frank House. The food was expensive, as is usual at international Marriots, but I didn't eat there once, I believe.

very good place

We stayed at the hotel over the weekend. The hotel is very nice: it's clean, staff are very helpful, the location is great - right next to the Central Station. However, rooms are nice but kind of small.
the executive lounge was nice but had a rather small choice of food for breakfast, and drinks were served only in the morning and evening time,
We stayed late January and our room as well as the hotel in general are very cold. We tried to adjust the temperature but it just did not work.
In general I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a church view.

We stayed on January 3rd to 4th, 2013.
Starting we arrived, the bellboy, during check-in, the staff greetings, was really proffesional and show really Marriott hospitality. The Bar has a good staff also, its a pitty we did not have a change to try the restaurant.
But I must say it was a good stay. I will come back for my next holiday.
All the best. Keep up a good work.

The Marriott Hotel is our place to stay whenever we are in Amsterdam. This must have been our 5th stay. The location is great - away from the touristy madness of Dam and Centraal city, but close enough to go there by tram or simply walking. It is just a 5 minute walk to Leidesplein - where there are plenty of shops and restaurants - but without the craziness of the Dam area.
At Leidesplein you can catch a tram to anywhere you want to go in the city.
The hotel lobby has been renovated since our last stay (2008), and it is very well done. (The old lobby was getting 'tired'.) And, they have tossed out the pizza chain that was 'part' of the hotel and put in a nice lobby bar/cafe - Sorrels. Nice atmosphere, good place for a drink and relaxing. The full service restaurant, Mid Town Grille serves good food and the service was very attentive.
(We ate there our last night.) Our room was on the 9th floor, tucked into a corner, so we did not have hall way noise (but then again, this was just after the New Year, so I think the hotel was not busy). Our room overlooked the Holland Casino area, and we could not hear any street noise - with the exception of emergency sirens which is going to be heard no matter what floor/room.
Housekeeping was efficient and room was fresh - no mustiness. Our room (945) was large and spacious - not at all confining.
We are Platinum Premier Elite with Marriott, so we had access to the Executive Lounge - which is now on the ground floor (it used to be upstairs). With that we had a nice breakfast selection and then snacks/desserts in the evenings. They also put out during the evening snack/dessert hour free wine/port, and alcoholic drinks - no charge! And, what is also nice, if you do eat in the Mid Towne Grille and mention you were in the lounge drinking, they will also offer you the same drink free in the restaurant. That is a nice touch.
With our status we also received free wi-fi. There is one lobby computer (they used to have 2 in the old upstairs lounge) that can use. If you have free wi-fi, go to the business center and ask for a free prepaid card, otherwise you can pay by credit card. (To print boarding passes, etc it is free for everyone). We used the lobby computer a few times, but usually relied on our smart phones,iPod Touch, and Kindle to access our emails and the internet - in our room or in the lounge while drinking/snacking.
The staff as always was friendly and helpful. If we had any questions all the front desk staff were very pleasant, courteous and most helpful.

This is our go-to hotel for Amsterdam. We have never been disappointed. The area is very good, and if you want to walk to the Jordaan - it is perhaps a 15 minute walk - just over a couple canal bridges and you are there. Many times we would just stroll up the Jordaan, taking in all the wonderful canal houses and charm of the old city!

this was my third time in the hotel. always business trips. great service, great conference capabilities, good food, nice rooms and some local food in the mini bar, great location. concierge was very helpful (he helped me a lot with not only museum locations but also price of tickets...) and also all other stuff members are very kind. fast check in and even faster check out.
the onyl problem was the room keycard - had to go at least twice to the front office in 4 days.
