Stayed at the Marriott for 3 days/2 nights in early February '08. Hotel is located further from Centraal Station, and transportation to hotel will be more convenient than walking. Taxi cost us approx 20 Euros, trams are also convenient to hotel. The hotel is located near the the Leidseplein, with trams, cafes and museums nearby; casino located across canel from Marriott. Restaurants are available in the Marriott with room serice and an all-night convenience shop across the street.
We enjoyed being a little further removed from Dam Square, and this is the perfect place for families not wanting to be on top of coffee shops and the RLD (although all still just a few minutes away). Rooms are clean, larger than European standards, and the beds are very comfortable. Would be my choice again.

I was traveling in Italy for a month with school and we decided to take a weekend trip to Amsterdam. We chose the Marriot and were very happy with it. The beds are super comfortable. The rooms are clean and we payed a decent rate for the weekend. You are also in a great location. I would highly recomend

The hotel is in a pretty good spot, close to a canal boat station and museums. There are plenty of restaurants around just within a short walking distance.

Our double room was quite smart and with a really large comfortable bed.

In the hallway on our floor there was always a big bowl with fresh apples for guests. What a great idea!

Staff at the concierge desk were friendly and happy to advise on interesting things to do in Amsterdam.

Overall, not a bad stay.

What you would expect from a marriot, it is comfortably at the 4 star standard you would expect from this chain. Nothing to write home about, but is definatly worth staying at if you can get it at the right price. lovley big beds.
