Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City from 3-6th May, 2007. This hotel has a great location and is less than 5 minutes walk from Central Station.

Decided to cash in on priority club points and stayed in a two bedded queen room. As a platinum member of priority club this hotel allows access to the club lounge. The club lounge offers a selection of soft drinks, beer, wine and snacks throughout the day and is open from 07:00-24:00 daily. The lounge also has 2 PCs with free internet connection. A continental breakfast is served from 07:00 until 11:00 during the week and is extended until 11:30 at weekends.

Had a meal at the resaurant Dorrius within the hotel which was an excellent experience, typical dutch food and very good service.

Staff at this hotel were all polite, informative and helpful.

I would recommend this hotel.

We had stayed at the Crowne Plaza Amsterdam for a weekend while mixing some pleasure with a business trip...

The service and friendliness offered in this hotel from the door man. check-in service, concierge etc. was second to none.

Being a Platinum / Ambassador of the Intercontinental Priority Club in most cases upon check-in will get you a pleasant greeting and maybe a slight room upgrade however, at this Hotel we were treated as if we were dignitaries!!

(Room upgrade, concierge lounge, fruit basket and wine!!!) Our room was clean, comfortable, well appointed, and really quite spacious for European Hotel Standards.

The location of this hotel is great a 5 min walk from the Central Station, but was in a very safe area, 500 meters from the Tram Stops.

I must admit that we had lots of fun with other guests on the rooftop patio of the concierge lounge watching the sunset on an unusually warm evening in late April.

I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone!!

The hotel is in a fantastic location, less than 5 mins fro Centraal Station. Just get the train from the airport to the station, it's very quick and easy about 20-25 mins from hotel to airport.
I stayed in Rm 251, a twin with double beds. This is a great room as it's at the end of the corridor so no one ever passes your door!
We didn't have breakfast included in our rate (98E/night) but there is a supermarket about 10 mins down the road and lots of little bakeries nearby.
Loads of sights are within walking distance, along with shops, restaurants, Dam Square etc etc.
The hotel has a small gym (with temperamental machinery!) however it was pretty good to get up in the morning and do a workout then go for a dip in the pool (quite small and a little chilly but this just encouraged you to swim faster!) and then relax in the sauna (these are situated in the changing rooms so are single sex only).
There was the usual variable room service - sometimes you got your water refreshed, sometimes not, sometimes they gave you more toiletries, sometimes not but as usual in hotels if you ask one of the chamber maids for something they are more than happy to get it for you.
Overall a brilliant hotel for sight seeing and a very quiet room.

My husband and I are just back from a three night stay which we enjoyed. We cannot fault the hotel in any way.
We upgraded to a club room which was average size and very clean, with all the extra things you would expect from a club room.
The breakfast that was provided in the club lounge was good. We also could have free drinks, snacks and computer acess in the club lounge.
The staff were very helpful and polite.
We had dinner in a steak house opposite the hotel one night and it was excellent.
The hotel is very near the central station and is in a good location for sight seeing.
We took the train from the airport to central station.Get an open return, it saves you time on your way back. The train from the airport is very straight forward to use and is a lot cheaper than getting the shuttle bus or taxi.
We did not use the tram but we did use the canal bus to get around.
If we were to return to Amsterdam we would use the hotel again.
