When they state 3pm check in, that is what this hotel means. Although you can register and leave your luggage with the concierge if you arrive early. The room was, more or less, a typical city centre hotel room: usual amenities and nice clean beds. Although there was heating / air conditioning in the room, on trying to open a window (as we both like fresh air in a bedroom), we found the windows were actually just panes of glass with no openings. At the same time it was obvious that the net curtains had not been cleaned for a long time – they were musty, dusty and smelled of smoke.
Having said that, the hotel staff were extremely pleasant, when we asked for extra pillows we got them, the food and beverages were of a good standard and the hotel itself was very handy for the sight seeing we intended to do. All in all a typical city centre hotel with nothing to make it stand out from the crowd.

We were hesistant to book at the Crowne Plaza because of past reviews about noise but we never heard a thing at night. The location was very convenient - within walking distance of all of the sights and restaurants. The concierge was very helpful in making reservations. After living and traveling in Europe for the hottest summer on record - the air conditioning was pure bliss. Our only problem was being placed in a smoking room - but the smell was not too strong. All in all - the hotel looks a little worn but it is a good value.

This is the third time I have stayed in this hotel. It is not a 4 star hotel, maybe a 3. The rooms are small and outdated but adequate. If you can get a room facing an alley, they are relatively quiet. The rooms this visit were not exceptionally clean, with dirty grout, and I had to change from my first room as the bathroom toilet had not been cleaned well. The second room was fine. The breakfast is not worth the price.

I would look for a better hotel next time. Unfortunately, my company keeps booking travelers here because it is central and cheaper prices can be booked on the internet.


The lobby is dark, tired looking and outdated. The staff is pleasant.

I stayed here for 1 night on the club floor. I booked through ichotels web site and asked for a king bed. Check in was a bit slow but i was upgraded to a kind of suite. This had a hall, bedroom and tiny living room with gravel balcony. The decor was early 80's and not that well maintained,stained walls from water seepage, battered paintwork and the tiles around the bath had holes for old fittings drilled and just left making it look a bit dirty. A nice touch is the senseo coffe maker in place of the usualinstant sachets. The club lounge is pleasant enough for a drink but didn't eat anything there. For the 180 euro i paid i guess it is ok for this city but i would pay the usually higher prices
