This hotel is fantastically located, right on the leidsplein square, which is great for bars & restaurants. The hotel itself is beautiful from the outside, big and imposing.
The lobby has a very modern feel to it, very clean and swish, the staff were very helpful. We got there at 2pm and our room wasn't ready for another hour, but we were able to leave our bags with the conceirge while we went for a drink. Upon checking in, we couldn't find our room but one of the bell-hops who saw us looking lost immediately offered to help, and took us in the lift all the way to our room which was very kind.
Without asking we were upgraded to a suite, which I must say was very nice. The room was massive and included a large double bed, big pillows, a couch and two armchairs, plasma tv (with several english speaking channels including CNN, BBC and MTV) , tea & coffee facilites, ironing board & iron, safe, the bathroom was large too, with double sinks, a fantastic shower, robes & slippers.
The room itself was right above the reception, but still very quiet. It had big floor to ceiling windows overlooking the canal which was beautiful. It could have been more noisy, but the bed was that far from the window you didn't notice! The room was spotless, and an absolute bargain which we got through the hotels website for 100 euros a night.
Breakfast was not included in the rate, and is 20e per person, we didn't bother and instead headed out and bought some pastries.
Upon checking out, we were able to leave our bags all day until our flight, which is a massive help.
I would highly recommend this hotel, good location, great room, good rates, nice staff. Brilliant!
