This hotel is in a very good area, close to the museums, Apple store and nightlife. The rooms are nice sized, a pleasant surprise and our room had a balcony overlooking the canal - the only saving grace besides the size. HOWEVER, that is where the compliments end. There were also several negatives. We stayed there in early December when it quite chilly outside and the only heat in the room was a radiator! There was no heat in the bathroom at all. Also, the bed was clearly old and very soft. As is now apparently the custom in Europe, there was no top sheet on the bed, just the comforter. The tub was very dangerous to get in and out of, as it was a bit raised, making the sides quite steep to overcome. The bathroom was small. Apparently, there are some renovated rooms, but ours clearly was not one of them. Yet the price was high (on Monday night it was about 350 Euros and Saturday and Sunday were about 200 Euros each). Also, the breakfast was another 19 Euros if we had chosen that option. The restaurant is beautiful, but unnecessarily expensive. Overall, the hotel was slightly below average and the cost was high. If you stay here (and again, it is in a superb location), be sure to request a renovated room and if it is in winter, ask about the heating for the room!
