This is a fantastic hotel in a fantastic location with fantastic staff!!

My boyfriend and i stayed here for a weekend city break and loved every minute of it.

Location - right in the middle of everything. There are some really fun bars, clubs and comedy clubs just outside the hotel door. Liedseplein is great for food/drink and dancing the night away! We recommend the Bulldog (its a bit cliched but hey its The Dam!). The tram stops, Musuem district, Canal tour pick up point, Tourist Information, Fashion District and Casino are all within 5 mins walking distance. The Red Light District and Centraal station are a littel further away, but no more than a 10 min tram ride (which is only €1.60).

Comfort - The beds are amazing and so spacious. extremely comfortable and ensure a good nights sleep. Despite being right in the heart of the action, we experienced no problems with noise pollution.

Service - the reception staff were helpful, polite, professional and friendly. We asked them for advice on how to book a canal tour and they gave us a 10% discount voucher! Complimentary apples and mineral water was also a bonus!

Business Travellers - despite this being a holiday, my boyfriend had to prep for a meeting at work and so we used the business center for an hour or so. good internet service adn printing facilities. Surfing the web is a little pricey though.

We arrived in Amsterdam on the 26th of December at 6am.
By the time we arrived to the hotel it was 7am, the check in time was at 3pm.
The guy at the reception desk was so nice to let us do the check in at that time and offered us a complimentary upgrade of our room because we had written an email indicating we were on our honeymoon.
The room we got it was nice, spacious and very comfortable.
The location is excellet, basically you are in Leidsenplein.
The only thing i didn´t like it was the cleanliness because we used some of the spoons they had for the coffee and the spoon was never changed during our two night stay.
We requested a knife to cut some charcuterie we bought and in less than 5 minutes the room service brought us the knife. DEFINATELY EXCELLENT SERVICE.
WE LOVED THE ATTENTION TO DETAILS LIKE FINDING A PERSONALIZED WELCOME LETTER FROM THE HOTEL.
I definately recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to be a block away from the shops, restaurants and clubs.

The Hotel is an extremely reasonably priced 4 star hotel . The rooms are a nice size with a great bathroom.

The Art deco public rooms are amazing.

The hotel is on the canal boat stop so its great for sightseeing. The vtrams also stop right outside.

With a few minutes walk there are many pubs , clubs , restraunts and convenience stores

Stayed at this hotel December 24th - December 27th 2007. We had no pre-conceived ideas but hoped it would be good as it was Christmas....... we were not disappointed. The room was immaculately clean ...room house keeping impectable. Staff very friendly and very accomadating to every needs. We needed a cork screw room service brought one for us to keep ... no charge! Staff very friendly. We had a very early start and checked in at noon and were told as our room was ready we could go staight to it which as great.

Couldn't recomend this hotel enough we shall certainly return when in Amsterdam next!!!!

This a lovely building and a great situation. The architecture is outstanding. Unfortunately though, its all smiles and no content. The Friday evening of our stay was the worst. The dining room downstairs was hosting a party. A band played until 01:30 - not too bad but we were on the first floor and I hate Queen (and Abba)! However, after the band finished and the room cleared, the staff dragged the furniture back in over the wooden floor. It was past four in the morning before I got to sleep. I mentioned this when I checked out but got no satisfaction.

Our room was beside a store of some sort - at least we didn't "waste" any of the holiday sleeping late in the morning!

Finally - I came home with two nice bite marks as a souvenir of my stay!
