“Great location, slightly dirty rooms.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2009

This is in a great location; 5 minutes from Dam Square, 10 minutes from Anne Frank Museum. The Van Gogh museum is further at about a 25 minute walk. Our room was tiny, with barely any room to move around the luggage and beds. There were giant stains on the curtains and light shades, but it didn't bother me enough to ask for another room. Luckily the bathroom was very clean. The people next to us were in a non-smoking room, but were smoking pot every night -- just know that that might happen. Definitely ask for a room away from the street. We were located in the back, but there was still noise from outside. I imagine, though, that it would have been a lot louder out front. Staff was very nice and attentive. Still, great deal considering the price we paid and the location.

We stayed 5 nights and the first impression of the room was lack of drawer space for storage, only 4 hangers in the closet, nice bathroom but the towels were quite small and thin!(This point diminished the hotel I thought). Tea and coffee provided. Our room overlooked Spuistraat which can be noisy at night as can deliveries and bin men who start early. No air con so open windows sometimes necessary.Internet connection in the room but I used the Wifi in the lobbyL location is very convenient and a short walk to a wide selection of restaurants and bars.

This is a small hotel in an excellent location walking distance from Central Station and near to all attractions. We paid only EU 70 per night, a real bargain. The room was small and had little closet space but it was clean and quite adequate for a couple of nights. There was a full bathtub, safe, TV, and electric teamaker. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is terrible and breakfast costs EU 12.50 extra. But there are lots of cafes and restaurants around.

Stayed here for 4 nights. The staff were more then helpful and polite.

The room was clean no a/c but a fan provided and needed.

Kettle and plenty of tea and coffee etc.

Bathroom very clean new towels every day and complimentery toiletries lovely.

Sheets changed half way through stay.Beds very comfy.

Only down side was that on their suggestion we booked a meal in the restaurant on

our last night. We went down and found it closed so we had to eat in the bar which is lovely with the Delft Tiles but not as comfy. We were not the only ones to have to do that

it was the same menu however and the bar man was lovely working very hard doing the

restaurant work as well.

Yep, Great location, friendly staff, complementary pet mice.... We had a great time here until we started to notice how many mice we had in our room. At one point we actually had two on video, so I only recommend this hotel for real animal lovers.

A man approached us at the train station when we arrived with a great deal for a hotel and it happened to be right in the center of Amsterdam, we had a huge gorgeous room and were really well looked after.

fantastic location, right in the city centre. comfortable room, all you need - especially if you're only staying a couple of nights like I did (not sure about it being 4* but its pretty nice if you're used to budget hotels - plus we were out most of the time - who wants to spend all their time in the hotel?) lovely old building from the outside, (i head it used to be a Heineken brewery) standard decor in the rooms, plain and simple. didnt eat at the restaraunt but staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. read someone's review who said they had problems with the door card key things, we did too (once) but they fixed it immediately at reception, wouldnt let that put you off. again its an amazing location and not too expensive, go for it!
