“Great hotel, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

This is a great hotel conveniently located in the heart of downtown with a metro station right outside. The food was good and there was a nice variety for breakfast in the morning. A nice little pub attached to the hotel made it perfect for finishing off the evening with a cold beer or a warm coffee and Bailey's.

Although our room was small, it was clean, quiet and well furnished. The bed was very comfortable.

The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. They were always willing to call us a taxi or help us out with questions regarding local attractions.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice quiet place to call home while checking out the sights of Amsterdam.

I was in Amsterdam for 4 nights and found this hotel to be centrally located close to all aminities and my room was spacious enough for my needs. The room was clean, we'll-maintained and had everything g I needed. Well worth a try when you go to Amsterdam! The staff are all friendly and can assist you with any query. I will stay there again if I have to go that way.

Room Tip: The quiet rooms are on the inside, not facing the street.

stayed three nights at this very central hotel, the rooms are clean and comfortable, we did have a problem on the first morning with workmen outside our bedroom 428 I think the work in only temporary but they moved us to room 520 which was a very quiet room the move was prompt and the staff very helpful, two nice lieins after that. the soap shampoo etc in the bathroom are in little boxes with the theme of the hotel which I think is based on delft pottery, you know the blue stuff, very quaint. two minutes to dam square and ten minutes to anne frank house a very pleasant walk away and a must visit place.

I was a little worried after reading reviews about small rooms at this hotel but needed somewhere central for just one night - I need not have worried, our room was massive with a large settee, table and two chairs, large desk and loads of floor space and comfy beds. Breakfast was extensive and plentiful. Staff very polite and helpful and nothing was too much trouble - they went out of their way to ask if we needed information on the surrounding are and attractions. Excellent all round. I am very picky but have no hesitation on recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: I didn't ask for anything specific as we only stayed for one night but we were in room 101 which...

I really like this hotel. It's got character and is definitely not a chain, cookie-cutter hotel. The rooms are a little small, but this is prime Amsterdam, so convenient to the best the city has to offer! I enjoyed the hotel's restaurant rather a lot (check out the numbered steaks), and coffee and breakfast in the morning are excellent here as well. The staff are courteous and accommodating, and I would most definitely stay here again. When you consider how excellently placed in Amsterdam this place is, combine that with the fact that it is neither a knock-off hotel nor a cheapie hotel (the rooms are clean), and figure in that the place really has personality, it's a really good accommodation.

We booked this for a short break in Amsterdam, partly influenced by other positive reviews on here. We weren't disappointed. Situated near Dam Square and with excellent access to the Central Station and tram routes, this hotel was perfect for sightseeing and exploring. The staff were charming and very helpful. The room, although smallish, was well appointed and spotlessly clean. We were facing an inner atrium and so it was very quiet, too. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, as are some of the more notorious tourist attractions. We'll be staying here again. Highly recommended.

Great location, really close to the dam and all Amsterdam has to offer. The rooms in the hotel were tiny and basic think Travelodge at best and you won't go far wrong! Bed barely big enough for two and you had to squeeze into the bathroom. Very expensive for what it was
