We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Location is very central. Our room was nicely decorated and very clean. Service is overall great from front counter to room amenities to turndown. We needed a carpark and the hotel's parkade is attached and therefore convenient. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

I had a fantastic stay at the Gand Krasnapolsky. My first 2 nights I stayed in a standard room. Not much of a view, but bed was very comfortable and bathroom decent with good water pressure. I decided to stay 2 more nights and upgraded to better room. This room was was very nice, contemporary design and and incredible view. My room overlooked Dam square. Queen's Day was held on April 30 and my room overlooked the stage they set up for their Queen's entertainment. I would recommend visiting Amsterdam during this local holiday, one of the coolest events I have ever attended. The hotel staff was great also. I recommend taking the airport shuttle for 11 Euros, convenient and worth it. Great location for hotel, in the middle of everything. Lots of great restaurants and bars close by. I recommend Gaucho for steaks, also the NY Pizza stand and falafal sandwaches are filling and cheap. I also recommend the scrumptious pastry shop next door. Avoid the EuropaBar next to hotel, 5 Euros is too expensive for a beer. Amstedam is a great city to visit and the dutch residents are very nice. London is getting too expensive, I think Amstedam will service as my base for my Europe travels now because although hotels expensive, everything else is fairly reasonable.

I booke dthe hotel at the NH Hotel site at an attractive rate. The room was spacious and quiet. Very clean. The hotel is a bit unpersonal and very big. Breakfast is tremendous !!! and teh breakfast room is art nouveau..; a real experience. Location is very ok altough a busy neighbourhood even at night. But rooms were sound proof. I stayed at several hotels in Amsterdam. This one is my favorite.

We came to Amsterdam for New Year Dec 2004 and were lucky enough to stay at the Kras. Superb hotel, very friendly and helpful staff and you must have the Sunday Brunch (which was on New Years Day) An eat as much as you can buffet, with champagne, perfect cure for the hangover from New Years Eve.

Very centrally located Hotel and so easy to get to from the Airport, just hop on a Train and it's a few minutes walk to Dam Square. So much cheaper than a Taxi. We walked everywhere in Amsterdam and WOW what a lovely city, great food, friendly people and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.
