“Landmark Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

Stayed 1 night in this historical Hotel. Spectacular 19th century decorated breakfast room and restaurants. Nice big rooms with however somewhat outdated bathrooms in the older part. Excellent situation to reach all local touristical hotspots by walking.

Spent a lovely weekend here made special by this hotel and fab location. One of the highlights of our stay was the amazing breakfasts served in the wonderful winter garden hall - such a lovely way to start the day. A few niggles though - a poor first impression by reception staff, no friendly welcome on offer and the hotel does have a 'corporate' feel. But, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

My second time staying here- and my experience was approximately the same. No complaints- nice room, good service- not too far from the train station and close to the trams. Dam Square is a great location to just hang out and watch the happenings. Around the corner from the Red Light District- plenty of dining options. No this is not a 5 star- mind the difference between the apartments and the hotel and keep in mind that Amsterdam is as much a maze as the hotel might seem to some. Yes- the Wi-Fi was slow but FREE- good enough to skype with! A faster connection was offered for sale for the hyperspeed minded. ALSO- down the street is a laundromat you can use (open til 10pm) for those who dont want to pay the laundry fees.

Room Tip: Decide if you want an apartment that has cooking and laundry or a room in the hotel. The apartment w...

The NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky is a really good 5* hotel in the City Centre of Amsterdam, All museams and shopping areas etc are within walking distance from the hotel.
Rooms are big and spacious, we made the most of the pillow service - you are given a menu of pillows you can request by calling reception and they bring them up to your room.
The hotel is a 10 minute stroll from the station.
Your can see Madam Tousauds from the front of the hotel, which is less than a 2 minute walk away. Surounding the hotel are loads of restaurants and places to eat and drink. The hotel is in the centre but yet still really quiet.
Best hotel we have stayed in so Far in Amsterdam and will definatly be back.

This hotel has a very good location and thats proberly the only thing thats make it worth staying there.
The hotel is an average 4 star hotel which is spread out in different neighboor Buildings - its kinda maze to get around and some rooms/appartments you have to go out side and walk a bit.

The rooms is different what ever Building you get to and there is northing bad about the rooms - all the standard stuff you get in all other 3-4 star hotel.

The restaurant prices is very high, and you find better and cozy restaurants in the city for less Money.

The free internet - forget about it, they might as well have asked you for Money right away. The pageload is soooooo slow so the first thing you do is to pay 18 EUR for high speed internet.

All in all i cant really see why this should be a 5 star hotel, nothing special and wow about this hotel.

Long queues to checkin, walk miles to room, poor wifi making it impossible to do work and overall a very disappointing experience. Not like any other five star hotel where i have stayed. No staff asking how was experience or if they could help. Not a stay I would want to repeat.

Great place. The rooms are big and refurnished. There are many good stores and restaurants around. From there start the tours in town.
The bar in the reception serves a great choice os pastries what's wonderful for a coffee in the afternoon during a rest.
The only bad thing is the wifi speedy. It's very slow..
