“Great Hotel And Better Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Staff was very friendly and as helpful as they could be when we had questions. Our room was on the small side in comparison to what you would be used to traveling in the states but we were lucky enough to have a another bathroom just a few feet from our room so it made things a little better. Location is perfect, quiet and some very good cafes nearby (Pasta Villa and Sapori Del Mondo) small stores that sell items you may have forgotten to bring as well. Tram stop is about a block away and gets you to dam square (or anywhere else) in a few minutes. We found this location to be perfect for the way we wanted to travel, close enough to the sights and souds but far enough away you did not hear them at night. Breakfast buffet was very good but for 15 euro per person you can save some money and eat at a local cafe nearby. Also, the hotel seemed to be geared towards adult travelers not kids looking to party all night and day.

A well situated hotel with all the amenities you would expect for something in this price range in the inner city. Walking distance to a number of major locations, including the Hermitage, the zoo and Dam Square. Very pleasant and helpful staff, but I had continuous problems with my electronic room key and it didn't get fixed properly the whole week I was there. Breakfast expensive for the range of food on offer, so only had it once (there's a great coffee shop 59m away). The bedroom had a nice view over a small park and was well equipped and comfortable but the bed had the lumpiest pillows I've ever encountered anywhere.

Dear Softo,

thank you for your review.
It is good to hear your comments. We have had problems with our laundry company which resulted in the lumps in the pillows. I am glad to inform you that we have replaced them for brand new pillows.

Kind regards,
Hans

We went to celebrate my birthday, I had some reservations re the hotel due to some reviews but I found it lovely! Of course you get what you pay for and I wasn't expecting the ritz! However I was pleasantly surprised! The location was fantastic just off tram 9 stop for the zoo. the hotel itself was lovely with the vending machine being a welcome bonus. The rooms were not huge but plenty of room for 2 of us for 2 nights! Same with the bathroom it wasn't huge but for the amount of time you actually spend in a bathroom on holiday who cares! The breakfast room was beautiful and clean, with such a huge choice of food.
All in all I am glad I stayed here as we had a fantastic weekend.

I stayed here for for nights whilst attending a conference at Artis zoo. The location for that purpose was obviously ideal but a little way out of town if you want to walk it. There are good transport connections by way of a tram stop right outside but I personally like to walk.

The staff were very polite and helpful, and the level of cleanliness was very good. The room was small but pretty well laid out considering the lack of space, so at least the room did not feel cluttered with furniture.

Breakfast was ok but a little pricey. I think that sums the place up really.....ok but a little pricey.

i stayed here for a few days. rooms are standard but still good quality i got wifi in my room even though they said it only works in reception which was a bonus to me. reception staff very polite and friendly. i also hired bikes from the hotel which was 17 euros each for 24 hours. the best way to see Amsterdam.
the only minus is that the vending machine inside the hotel was very expensive 2 euros for a coke! only 50cents in the shop up the road.

overall i had a great time in Amsterdam and would stay in this hotel again.
its situated just outside of the hustle of the center with a tram stop outside.

Room Tip: i stayed in room 123

This hotel was small but comfortable. The ensuite especially was tiny but still with good facilities.
The stff were extremely kind and helpful. The room was well worth the money.
We would definitely stay again.
Took about 15mins into the centre of amsterdam walking and 25 to centraal station.
