“Great Location, Great Prices, Not too fancy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

While the employees may not seem very friendly, they do get the job done. located on one of the canals, a 2 min walk away from Dam square and a 10 min walk from Central station.

The hotel amenities are basic, so no need to get breakfast (just run down and go to one of the many shops downstairs) also do not forget that there will be a city tax per person added to the booking and a 50 euro holding fee for anything you may have extra.

make sure to book the hotel directly from the website to get the best fare!

Cheers

Room Tip: get a room that overlooks the canal

The hotel was clean and basic. The view was great. We were overlooking the canal. It was very nice to sit and watch the canal activity. Only drawback is there is a City tax that you have to pay that is not included in your booking.

Room Tip: Water view

My first impression upon entering the Hotel was how unkept it was. The night clerk did not help the image with his attitude. The hallways leading to the room showed how unkept the hotel was with it worn rugs and unpainted walls.

I should add a lot of people stay there from what I could see in the morning but only one night was enough for me so I went to another hotel.

Following an initial misunderstanding regarding the booking, our group of 16 athletes enjoyed an excellent stay at this Hotel. The location was perfect, 5 minutes walk to the lively parts of the city in an area that was both peaceful and picturesque which helped us get a good nights sleep. Our groups strict dietary requirements were met perfectly at breakfast where there was an excellent toaster. Our large rooms were clean & bright and following our strenuous days it was a delight to return to have a powerful shower easily adjusted for the perfect temperature, this meant that everyone in our group when questioned, was very happy.
We would like to thank the polite, friendly and very helpful staff, also thank you to Eduard for organising the bike rental which gave us the opportunity to increase our fitness levels, particularly for Carter who is training for his next tour .

In spite of many visitors companied, that rooms are too small, it is not a true, at least for me. My room was quite big, even had a couch.
It is not mMarriott, but it should no be.
it is not so modern or too large, however not too small either, but with a retro looks and amazing staff do the trick. if you're willing to see Amsterdam this is probably the best hotel you can find for yout $$. Great breakfast, very comfortable bad, the room has the most neccesary things you'll need. Reception-desk staff are very nice welcoming and helpful. The hotel located five minnute walk from DamSquare and 10 minutes from Central Station. Rijksmuseum only 18 minutes walk, as well as Van Gogh museum. Will stay there at my next visit.

Room Tip: if you want to visit Van Gogh or Rijksmuseum museums you should come at least 30 minutes before open...
