“extremely nice hotel - excellent location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

if your porpuse is staying 24 hours in the hotel - this is not what your looking for - not so modern or too large, but with a retro looks and amazing staff! - it does the work. if you're willing to see amsterdam - this is the only hotel you are looking for!
great and fresh breakfast, very comfortable bad, the room has the most neccesary things you'll need.
reception-desk staff are the most nicest people in amsterdam - very welcoming and helpful.
the hotel located five minnute walk from DamSquare and all the attrections you can think of.
im getting back to this hotel ay my next visit - hopefully soon!

Room Tip: if u can have a room with balcony that views to the canals - do that! anyhoh - dont think twice - t...

This hotel is situated very centrally, about ten minutes walk from Dam square in very old listed building. A friendly receptionist Maria showed us to our room, two single beds pushed together not what we had asked for,she changed our room to one on the fourth floor, good sized with canal view. There are lots of half landings as the hotel is several old houses joined together so there are stairs to negotiate. The room décor was very tired, there was a good sized bed with a very cheap mattress, the bathroom was very small with a high sided bath and the shower consisted of an attachment from the bath taps, it required patience to get the water temperature right, not very satisfactory!!. As the room had no double glazing it was quite noisy from the street and revellers on the barges. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room but free coffee was provided for two hours in the afternoon on the landings, we did not have breakfast as it was expensive at fifteen euros each so we cannot comment. We thought this hotel was very poor value for 278 euros per night and would definitely not stay there again.

This is a lovely period hotel totally in keeping with the atmosphere of the area. It is unpretentious and classically shabby in places (like the shower) but filled with charm and character. The central position on a canal side less than 5 minutes walk from Damm square is unbeatable as it is just outside the brashness of the city centre and firmly planted in the peaceful quaintness of the canals. We had a beautiful spacious room on the top floor with a canal view and beamed ceiling - sitting with the double windows open onto the canal we could feel part of the fray from the privacy of our own little corner of paradise - a truly memorable experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a canal view

we came in on a monday, the guy on the reception welcomed us, he had a little trouble finding the reservation but eventually we got everything and gave them a 50 euro deposit. the room was very nice, a perfect size for a couple and in addition we had a beautiful view to the Herengracht (cannel). the best thing about this hotel was it's location no doubt. Dam square was a 5 minute walk, whilst there was a tram station really close to the hotel too. even the central station was walking distance. in conclusion, looks like a really good choice for a 3-star hotel.

The hotel is centrally located, easy to find and near the city centre. from walking distance of the Central Station. Friendly staff, rooms are clean and have space enough. 24 hrs service is easy when you check out early, always someone of the staff at the desk

We had gotten a great deal for a flight and then had to choose a hotel - Checked out the reviews and picked the Rembrant Classic because t seemed to be a good location. And it absolutely was! Room was very clean, no issues with hot water or anything like that. it was summer so a few days were hot but was able to prop open the window with a stick they had there! The hotel is located on the nicest canal (so we heard during one of the boat tours as we passed proudly in front of our hotel ;) People are very nice. BEd extra comfortable (even though it was to single bed pushed together - we slept like babies! Didn't try the breakfast at the hotel but it seemed nice with some variety (we preferred eating out to try a new place everyday) Amsterdam is a beautiful place and this hotel was the perfect nest while we were there :) (* you can also rent bikes there for a day or the week...)

Room Tip: Request a view on the canal - not a noisy area so its a beautiful view :)

9 of us has just returned from a two night stay at the Rembrandt Classic Hotel & I would highly recomed this hotel. I booked it thru hotel.com & got it for £70 for 2 night B&B & the breakfast was very good. The hotel staff were very polite & helpful, the hotel is not far from all attractions. Would definitly go back to this hotel.
