“Very nice place to stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

The room was very good for 2, and we were just staying one night, so it was exactly what we were looking for. It is near the river, and also near Dam Square (2 blocks), so it is in a very good place. It is also near the central station, you could walk from Central Station to the hotel if you don't want to pay for any transport.

If you have to make the check out, you could leave your luggage there and continue visiting Amsterdam.

Room Tip: If you go ask for a room that is nearby the central garden that they have, because you have an extra...

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst in the city for work. Location is really good, only 5 minutes from the main square.

Had a little trouble on check-in/out as the reception desk didn't seem to understand the corporate booking process we had used and still tried to ask us for personal payment details, which the booking they were sent (and had printed at the desk) specifically instructed against.

Room and the rest of the decor seemed fairly dated. Room was also fairly small, but bed was comfortable and it was all clean. No iron in room, but you could pick one up in reception and although part of the plastic case was damaged it still worked fine. Hot water pressure was excellent but the water temperature was unstable and the shower head was a fairly old fashioned design.

The breakfast was pretty average, with a hot and cold selection.

Wifi deserves a mention too - there is a free option, but this is worse than dialup so it's worthwhile paying 20EUR for the week to improve the speed (I was getting 8mbit/s down after I paid).

This hotel is situated at a central location and faces the canal. It is very close to Dam Square,Anne Frank Museum. The room was average, the bathroom was small, we did not have any wifi coverage in our room which was a bummer.

The receptionist were friendly, polite, always helpful and they speak many languages.
The breakfast was very complete and with many kinds of food, fruit, dairy, sweet, salt, warm, cold, all you can desire.
The room was huge, with wi fi, tv with channels in many languages. The bathroom was great.
The location is incredible, one block away from the Dam square and when your window view is the Spiegel canal, what else can you ask for...?
Simply perfect and an incredible low price. I will recomend the lplace and hope I will come back in the future

For a budget hotel this is a good solution and good situation ..very close to Dam Square and many places. We were given a free upgrade to a room with a canal view which was lovely. Room had a bath and a shower over it. Stayed a Friday and Saturday night mid January.
Shortly after we arrived, however, a party of British men arrived, To say they were noisy is polite. I have never known such noise in a hotel. It didn't help that the room doors naturally bang shut when closed. Complained to reception but no apparent and effective help.

Room Tip: Weekend stay may be very noisy
