“We Felt Like Royalty!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we felt like valued guests. The sumptuous decor, attentive service, beautiful room overlooking the canal and a perfect location near all the sights -what a wonderful hotel!

My family shared two rooms for 3 nights. The rooms are small, but elegant and clean. Although relatively expensive, the hotel is fairly priced. The prepaid breakfast price of 13 euros is tolerable, but would clearly not be worth the 18 euros for the non prepaid price.
The best part about the hotel is its location and close proximity to so many of the sites in Amsterdam. Highly recommended.

The first night at this hotel was very noisy as I was in a room just above the canals and there were lots of party boats going by (but I think this is mostly on the weekend). I spoke to reception the next morning and they were very obliging and moved me to a quieter room with a view of the courtyard. I loved the little touches like the sweets in the room and the free pastries and coffee/tea in the foyer. The breakfast buffet was extensive, what you would expect if you are paying 18 euros. A suggestion is to book directly with the hotel online as they offer you a good rate and breakfast included. The staff were very knowledgeable and more than willing to make restaurant bookings or arrange tickets for the major attractions.

Very nice hotel, very well decorated, smiling staff and in a picturesque part of Amsterdam. Very nice breakfast buffet even olives...
The only downside is it is a little away the museumplein and if you plan to visit the many museums and the concertgebauw it may be wiser to get a public transport card. We had none and had to walk 20 more mins each way maybe 4 times a day a couple of days !! But with shops, nice people and cutest Amsterdam canal houses around this may not be a big problem for many...

This lovely boutique hotel is charming and perfectly located for walking everywhere in central Amsterdam. Many restaurants and shops are close by, and it sits on the beautiful Singel Canal. Dam Square is only a few minute's walk away.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Estherea. The rooms were comfortable and charming...not big, but so smartly planned that we didn't feel cramped. Little details made the hotel especially memorable; for example, there was complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in to-go cups all day, as well as chocolates. There are little nooks built in to the furniture next to the bedsides with outlets, perfect spot for storing books, glasses of water, and charging phones. Lovely, spacious bathrooms. The staff was very helpful, too. The location was great, very easy to walk most places from there. We are a family of five (kids age13,11, and 8), and everyone loved the hotel.

Fabulous small hotel located in the best part of the city. We were upgraded to a street view from a courtyard view which was lovely as the courtyard does not have a good view. We had room 303 and the double glazing kept out the noise of any street activity below. Cafés and shops in street behind hotel and others very close by.
Areas on ground floor for reading or drinking the complementary tea and coffee in the foyer. We took ours up to our room as well. Did not try the restaurant as wanted to experience the local ones.
So many activities to do in this beautiful city. Lots of brochures in the foyer and complamentary map of the city. Canal cruise office just a few doors down.
Lovely toiletries in bathroom. Hotel had lots of chandeliers, a restaurant, a bar a library area and a lounge area but retains the small hotel feel. Would absolutely recommend this hotel if the price is within your budget.
We took the 197 bus from the airport then caught a taxi to the hotel which was a few minutes away as it was raining. Taxis at end of bus line. Only cost 5 Euro for bus and 7 Euro for taxi.

Room Tip: Street or canal view would be best but if not you can sit in the lovely rooms down stairs
