Our visit to Amsterdam was made so much nicer with a stay at this hotel. I searched for months to find something good online and most hotels I found hadnt the best reviews. However, this hotel lived up to its reviews and more. It is very central and just by one of the canels. You can walk everywhere from this hotel, even Central Station which brings you straight to/from the airport.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit pricey at €16 a head but there are plenty of lovely cafe's just around the corner where you can eat for less.

I was extremely impressed with the complimentary tea's / coffee's / hot chocolate / sweets / fruit and cakes (yes free cakes!) that were in the lobby 24/7.

Our room was a decent size with a funky decor and also had a huge bathroom with double sinks. Plasma TV in our room also along with an iron and ironing board which was great as usually you have to borrow one from reception. Our friends stayed in a room on the 5th floor which was very similar to our's and also a decent size. Also the rooms were cleaned daily.

Although quite a pricey stay, it was well worth it for the comfort and I would definately recommend it to all - could not fault it.

This hotel lives up to its description on their own website. I walked from the station (a little too far for a short walk) and on the way it rained. I arrived, soaked, and the front desk staff immediately grabbed towels to dry me off.

The room was very nice, albeit a little small, but extremely comfortable. Very nice atmosphere.

This is a very nice central hotel located on a canal 5 - 10 minutes walk to all the sights. The beds are comfortable, the furnishings nice and the room a decent size for European hotels. Lobby, reception area and breakfast room are very beautiful and old-wordly with elegant wood furnishings. Bathrooms are large and very modern with double sinks. Restaurants close by. Very quiet area and away from the major "tourist" area near the train station, but only a 10 minute walk away. Highly recommended.

The other reviews have said most things.....
My husband and I stayed at Estherea for 3 nights. We stayed in a large canal view room with a four poster bed.....well worth the extra money. During our stay it was my husbands birthday and we were amazed by the birthday greetings and "little extras". All the staff were incredibly helpful and attentive.
Well done Estherea. Highly recommended!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend in January 08 and spent a bit more than we normally do for a hotel and were not disappointed. We couldn't believe when we walked into the hotel it was so nicely furnished. We had to wait a few minutes for our room to be ready but there was free tea and coffee and sweets so we were happy enough to wait! Room is lovely big bed very clean and very comfortable, tv was also quite good most of the channels are in english and had a good range of channels. Bathroom also lovely. couldnt fault anything about this hotel - well just one small thing - we stayed from a Sat to a Mon and on the monday morning there was construction work going on outside where our window was (it was facing the back) so not good when I'm woken out of sleep! but we were leaving on the Monday so it didnt really bother me. The construction work's probably finished up by now anyway. Anyway to finish up - I would definately stay here again it's money well spent, and also brilliant location just a short walk away from dam square and loads of restaurants. Also is a walking distance from the train station (takes about 5-10 minutes).

  • Liked — great value for money, location, comfortable!
