“Amazing Hotel, Amazing Location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

Hotel Esthera couldnt get any better! We stayed there for Valentines weekend. On arrival the hotel was fabulously decorated with a Love theme throught, but not in any way tacky.

Located 10/15 minutes from the busy centre, its a perfect location. just head down to spui and youve got some amazing cafes and restaurants on the doorstep.

Service from staff at all times was incredible and couldnt fault thier attention to detail. We had Chocolate heart pillows as a treat for valentines. We stayed in a delux room with a Jacuzzi in this family owned boutique hotel. The room was a perfect size and we had all the storage space we needed.Every room is different and that just adds to its charm. We did use the Jacuzzi, however it was a little noisy, but as the champagne was flowing we didnt mind too much.

We did have breakfast there, whch was 18 euros each so you probably could get it cheaper outside, but there was lots of variety on offer and was well cooked and the restaurant was well layed out. We popped into Marias bar on a couple of occassions, with its fabulously decorated pink theme, gorgeous chandeliers it was hard for anyone to resist.

There was 24 hour complimtary tea & Coffee. Buscuts and sweets come out if youve been out and back at middnight too :)

Great cocktail choice and good service. I can not reccomend this hotel enough - you will not be dissapointed!!

Room Tip: Delux jacuzzi room courtyard facing... its worth the upgrade though you wont be dissapointed with an...

Booked this hotel out of the blue for a Christmas present for my Girlfriend, we were amazed of the quality of the room and hotel staff.

It was clean, comfy and decor was to die for.

The hotel is great for couples and we have already recommended this to friends.

Perfect location, perfect hospitality, perfect breakfast…As a couple in our 50's this hotel was all that we needed, and more. Free tea and cakes in the lobby all day was the icing on the cake. I imagine if my teenagers had come with us, they would have liked it too, as there is free wifi.

The unpretentious facade of this hotel on the Singel Canal doesn't do justice to the bright, warm and rich interior. Perhaps not for you if you dislike the hot reds and pinks of the reception rooms but you'd be pushed to find such comfort and thoughtfulness in a hotel at this price or location. After a hard day sightseeing, the complimentary coffee, biscuits and sweets can be enjoyed in comfort in the lounge and library. So good to find comfy chairs these days rather than those that just look good! Although the bedrooms are not huge, ours easily took an extra bed without us falling over it. Lots of wardrobe and shelf space even for 3 people. Super L'Occitane toiletries and free water in the room (replaced daily). Friendly, helpful staff on reception and breakfast and rooms were made up promptly each day. Although breakfast is 18 euros each, children up to 12 are not charged which helps to bring the cost down for a family. Perfect location to walk about or get the Hop On Hop Off bus which stops right behind the hotel. Would definitely recommend. Top Tip for sightseeing: save yourself a long queue and book tickets for Anne Frank's House on line and then you can just walk in

We stayed here for 3 nights in which I believe is a family run hotel & have never slept so well in my life!...we were a bit worried about other reviews saying that the rooms were too small but that was not our experience & would recommend this charming hotel to anyone which is right in the centre so were able to walk everywhere & the friendly staff could not have been more helpful

Room Tip: soundproofing on the 2nd floor from the room above was not ideal but in no way spoilt our stay

This is the most cosy, opulent (without the stuffiness that can entail), delightful and enchanting place you could ever wish to stay. I slept well on the perfect bed and awoke smiling and happy. No detail was missed for the busy or weary traveller down to the l'occitane in the bathroom to the free freshly ground coffee and cakes in the lobby to the super barman/cocktail specialist serving amazing variety of drinks to go with your complimentary olives and nibbles. As travellers we loved coming home to the hotel after a big day out exploring Amsterdam. We came into the lobby dropped onto the opulent furniture with our pick-me-up coffee to read the newspapers (complimentary in the library) and surfed for a good hour or so before going to our rooms to bathe and get ready to go out. It was like being at home but 1000 times better.
