“Beautiful lobby, cool coffee machine and spacious rooms”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

Had an elegant, old school feel as you had to turn in and get your key each time you left and entered the hotel.

Has a huge salt water fish tank seen as you enter and when you're sitting in the lobby, plus a nice espresso and coffee machine near the dining hall and side entrance to the bar.

The room and bathroom was much larger than my previous visit to Amsterdam a couple months prior at another hotel.

Highly recommend this hotel and location.

Brilliant hotel. Highly recommend.

I spent my first night in the Doubletree by Hilton hotel near Amsterdam Centraal station which was a nice enough hotel, very modern but the room was basically a box, no character or anything to the room. My second night in Amsterdam was spent in Hotel Estherea, the hotel is in a great location, round the corner from Dam Square and Anne Franks house.

The moment we arrived at the hotel they made us feel very welcome, the hotel is spotless and is without doubt one of the nicest I have stayed in on my travels. The room was ideal and had everything we required. You can help yourself to free tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc near reception and also some free cakes. I honestly could not fault this hotel. Free Wi-Fi is available near reception (in your room there is a charge).

I don't think I would stay anywhere else on my next visits to Amsterdam.

This hotel offers a great base to explore the city, being minutes from Dam square and a mere walk away from other attractions and restaurants. The lobby and pink bar are lovely and offer high-speed free wifi and complimentary hot drinks to guest.

Bedroom and bathroom have all amenities required, shower particularly good.

The only downside being that we booked a double room and were given one where two single beds were put together, this wouldn't have been a problem except they gave us two individual duvets. Not ideal for a couple.

Also cleaners could have been more considerate in the morning, when guests were still asleep.

Be careful, as the city has taxes on hotels, so you will pay slightly more for the hotel then you originally thought. Bring extra spending money to cover this (we stayed for 3 nights and was an extra 20-30 euros)

This hotel was very beautiful and in a great location. It was about 20minutes by taxi from the airport and located right on a canal.
The room itself was responsibly sized or a europe hotel. The staff were great and all spoke very good english. There was 24 hour T&C making facilities in the lobby.
We hired our bikes from the hotel as we couldn't really find anywhere else near by to rent them from. They cost around 16Euro each bike for a 24hour period.
Breakfast at the hotel was really nice and they had a great selection to choose from.
Wifi can be purchased at an additional cost for 10Euro per device for a 24hours period or there is free wifi in the lobby.
overall a great place to stay!

This is a beautiful small hotel on the Singel Canal in central Amsterdam, and very reasonably priced compared to other highly rated hotels in the city (also picked as the "Best Hotel Value" by Frommers). The rooms were very well appointed-typical size for European hotels--also very quiet even on the street side. The staff was very helpful with directions and restauraunt recommendations (and there are a number of good restaurants in short walking distance). They have a cozy bar that is open 24 hours. Most of the major museums are within a reasonable walking distance or short cab ride. If you book your room directly with the hotel on their website, you get free internet in your room and late checkout time. Overall HIGHLY RECOMMENDED--would defintely stay there again

Room Tip: Canal facing rooms have a nice view and are quiet

Flew Easy Jet - Luton to Amsterdam - great experience, signed up to easy boarding and seat reservation - well worth the money, no hassle.

Stayed at Estherea Hotel - absolutely wonderful, lovely rooms, great staff, wide choice for breakfast which although not included was well worth it. Hotel is very well situated, easy for getting round Amsterdam.

Hotel recommended Restaurant Haesje Claes just round the corner - Dutch style - magnificent and good value for money. Consider booking as very popular.

Room Tip: Pay for a superior room - if you book direct you get free wi fi. Extra for canal view at €45+ a nigh...
