Very good hotel

Location not in the most center, but 10 minutes to go.

Hotel offers scooters to drive. It's very convenient.
5-7 minutes to drive by scooter to shoping zone.

We fell in love with Amsterdam and the Hotel Estherea. It is brimming with beautiful, old world charm. The rooms are extremely well appointed and beautiful. We had a large room with a street view, but there was never an issue with noise at all. The air conditioning is fantastic and the rooms are spotless. The soaps they have in the rooms are my absolute favorites.

Breakfast was not part of our reservation, but we found a great restaurant on the corner called Berts Broodge, I believe, that had huge portions for all their meals, very fresh ingredients and great service.

The staff at this hotel are so polite and will do anything you need with a huge smile and they end up thanking you for the honor of filling your request. How much better does it get for travelers than that?

We will absolutely stay here again and have recommended it to many friends, several of whom have stayed here and loved it.

It is a must stay when you visit the Venice of the north... the beautiful city of Amsterdam.

Just getting round to reviewing this Hotel after staying here at the beginning of Nov 2010. The hotel is in a good location and borders a lovely canal bank not far from Dam Square. I was very impressed with the hotel and the elegant décor and in particular the library area which was nice for relaxing and having a coffee which was continuously free on tap. The room I had although compact had a great view of the canal and was very individually furnished and decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and room had all the amenities you would expect. I was pleased with all aspects of the hotel and the reception staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. This Hotel is a hidden Gem and excellent value for money and where other decent Hotels can be pricey in Amsterdam this is not. Avoid the corporate chain hotels and stay here is my tip as I will for future trips to Amsterdam…..

We had a double room on the noisy (non-canal) side of the street and loved it. Elegant room with a fantastic bathroom (including a separate whirlpool bath...great for sore European travel feet). The complimentary espresso in the lobby was a wonderful touch that we utilized multiple times daily. Amsterdam is extremely expensive, so this is spendy, but we are frugal and would happily stay here anytime for $250-$300 per night, so that says something!

The location was perfect on a beautiful canal. Great location for walking and site seeing. 5 minute walk to the floating flower shop or hop on the canal boats. The hotel is beautiful and the breakfast was a wonderful every morning. Expresso coffee machine in the lobby for morning or our hot chocolate or tea at night. Staff was very helpful and helped with tickets and tour information. Our room was the best hotel room ever. Bed was wonderful and room very clean.

A hotel with an olde world feel about it. Austere without being stuffy is how I would best describe it. Our room was on the 4th floor facing out onto the street and canal and whilst a little on the small size it was very comfortable. The bed was stupidly good and I haven't slept as well in a hotel room for a very long time. The views out over the canal made the room seem even more special. The breakfast at EUR15 a hit was well worth it. The location can't be faulted and the staff were helpful and ridiculously pleasant. Would throughly recommend a stay here.

What a fantastic hotel! Chosen for its location, being a 5 - 10 minute walk from Dam Square and a short walk to the trams, and having a triple room, the hotel did not fail to impress. With welcoming and friendly staff (who checked who you were before handing over the room key), a comfortable and adequately sized room, self service free coffee or tea as well as patisseries available all day, a bar to enjoy a drink at night and luxurious seating areas aplenty to read a book or watch life go by on the canal by day, a lovable resident cat and an aquarium to die for, what more could you want? A gym? but they had one of those too!

The hotel offered a good choice breakfast which seemed a bit pricey at first glance at 16 euros but was quite reasonable considering you could eat and drink as much as you wished (but get there early to get the best choice). No evening meal was available though but you could order room service where the food was provided by a local restaurant "Haesje Claes" serving traditional Dutch food which also had a gluten free menu which was great for me.

I would definitely choose Hotel Estherea again, and again, and again!
