As a native from Amsterdam who is currently living abroad, can say the location is perfect for tourists who would like to explore the city, close to the museums and public transportation. Also, neighborhoods is one of the best in the city.
Stayed her in April 2013 in a single room for a business trip, after having stayed her before (2 years ago) with my girlfriend in a nice double room.
This stay was a big disappointment.
Check-in was tedious: slow and all very manual. Single rooms are absolutely not to recommend: The very uncomforteable bed and pillows and noise from the street ruined my sleep. When calling the reception for a different (smaller) pillow, they came up with a pillow you put on the couch..
Internet in the room hardly worked, which forced me to go the reception..
Only plus was the breakfast, which had a decent variety and good service.
Overall this hotel is only to recommend if you make sure you are staying in one of the nice double rooms.
