This hotel is a quiet refuge in the museum area, away from the frenzy of Amsterdam - a perfect location for those who don't need to be in a party location. The staff is very helpful on activities, or letting you have your peace. We absolutely loved Ren, who helped us out when we uncovered that my husband's credit cards and ID had been "picked" from his pocket (something every visitor to Amsterdam should be alert to).
Our hotel room (401) was spacious, and had a wonderful view of the Rijksmuseum - especially beautiful at night. Breakfast was available at the hotel for additional cost, and consisted of a variety of fresh breads and other baked goods, eggs, ham, chicken, salmon, cheeses and fruit - it made for a great start to the day.
My husband and I loved the patio area - very quiet, and secluded, and a great spot for a glass of wine before dinner or after (or both, for that matter).
Perhaps the only thing that keeps this rating from being an "excellent" is that the room's air conditioner didn't quite keep up with the need. We had wonderful, unexpected, hot weather for May, and the small ceiling unit kept the room from being unbearable, but didn't cool it completely.
Despite this, we would head back to this hotel in a heartbeat!
