“Romantic Luxury Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

We stayed in the executive suite which was perfect for a long-weekend getaway. The extra features in the room including the jacuzzi and eucalyptus steam room made our stay extra-special.

The staff were very friendly and always greeted us with a smile. Breakfast didn't have a huge variety but had everything you really need and all very good quality. The scrambled eggs were perfect and the coffee great too.

Also a great location for shopping and restaurants. We recommend Seasons restaurant which was very close to the hotel.

Room Tip: Executive suite is worth it for the extra space and features.

Just arrived back home having been fortunate enough to have spent the last four nights at The Toren.. We visited Amsterdam for my partners 50th birthday and was not disappointed by anything, especially this hotel. The Toren is exquisite, very clean and comfortable, decorated and equipped to a very high standard. It is situated in a quiet and charming area of Amsterdam with most of the main attractions within walking distance. The staff helped make our stay perfect, extremely friendly and very helpful, nothing is too much! The management had also noticed that we were celebrating a special occasion and left lovely surprise in our room! I highly recommend The Toren to anybody who is considering a visit to Amsterdam!

Absolutely perfect stay and location. The staff are very friendly welcoming and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are perfectly equipped, clean and very luxurious. A perfect stay in a perfect boutique hotel in Amsterdam. The only slightly negative comment I will say is that you have to pay a 50 euro per day deposit when you check in which we was unaware of. Other than that I couldn't say a bad word. Perfect little break away, wish we had booked longer.

This is a wonderful hotel with fantastic theatrical decor and extremely friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean and modern with coffee machines to help you in the morning! The bathrooms re clean and modern. We stayed in the annex which at first felt disappointing, however it was next door to the hotel and just as lovely! As it's on the outer edge of the hustle and bustle of the centre I think this is the perfect location.

We enjoyed our stay at the Toren, not so much for the hotel itself, but for the level of service. We were greeted enthusiastically each and every time we entered or departed. There were alway 2 people at the desk so we never had to wait to ask questions. The moment we asked for anything it was done. I really can't say enough about the service. The location was also excellent. Close enough to walk everywhere, but not in a super touristy area. There was nothing extra special about our room. It was comfortable, quiet and clean. Stay here for the service!!!!!!

The Toren Hotel is terrific! My husband and I stayed in a special deluxe room with the jacuzzi in the annex with a garden view. The room was spacious, beautiful and very comfortable, and the jacuzzi provided a wonderful way to relax after dinner. The hotel and the annex are right on one of the canals in historic Amsterdam and were originally canal homes from the 1600's with a lot of history. The location is ideal. It's a short walk, about 5 minutes, to the Anne Frank House and a short walk to the tram or bus, which you can take to the Van Gogh museum. The staff at the hotel told us to buy tickets to the Anne Frank hotel in advance which we did. Definitely take that advice. Advance tickets will get you right in at the designated time and literally save you from standing hours on the line. Ask the hotel to book you Fast Track tickets for the Van Gogh museum. That line for us was only 10 minutes. The staff at The Toren is first rate and everyone is very personable! Originally we had a glitch with our room when we booked it in advance. It wasn't the hotel's fault at all, but they kept making sure that everything was perfect every day. And when we got to the room, we noticed that the shelf in the shower was missing. We told them and they immediately had someone fix it. The entire staff - from the reception desk to the waitstaff to the porters to the cleaning crew- were all wonderful! The breakfast at the hotel was also very good with a nice variety of hot and cold dishes. Two points to note. I was originally concerned about staying in the annex vs the main hotel but it was just as lovely and was about a 30 second walk from the main hotel. Second, if your room has a jacuzzi, please note that about 20-30 minutes after you drain the water, it may self-clean which ours did. We didn't know and we were falling asleep when we heard this very loud noise! We jumped out of bed and I realized it was coming from the jacuzzi. But none of the lights were on indicating that it was on and I couldn't shut it off. It finally went off by itself a few minutes later. I swore it was a ghost since the canal house was from the 1600's. But when I asked the front desk if anyone complained about ghosts, they said no. When I told them what happened they mentioned the self-cleaning feature. So be aware of this if you use the jacuzzi! So, no ghosts, just a self-cleaning jacuzzi. Overall, The Toren was the perfect place to stay! My husband and I highly recommend The Toren Hotel!

We stayed 3 nights at The Toren and the staff are incredibly friendly and made us feel so comfortable. They were so helpful. The Hotel is in such a good location and there is a really lovely atmosphere and the room was great; beautiful bath and incredibly comfy bed. We really enjoyed the breakfast and amazing cocktails in the bar too. I would definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone staying in Amsterdam. Thanks so much to all the the Toren staff and Eric and Petra for a wonderful stay : )
