“Book Early and have No Regrets”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2014

We nearly missed being able to get a room here. Having visited here for 3 nights, I can say that would have been tragic. I will return to Amsterdam and I will stay here again. Every positive pointed out in other reviews are true. The property is romantic, clean, very convenient and romantic. Every detail has been considered. Beyond the property is the staff. I have no idea how the owner finds and trains such a quality, professional and genuinely caring staff. We had a room (404) in the back of the annex building which is a few door down from the "main" building. It was very quiet and we felt very secure. We enjoyed that this room had a quaint courtyard. It's shared by another room but we never saw them. Book this place now.

Book this hotel now! Do not wait, do not pass go - all of that ;-) My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights last week and really beyond the phenominal room (Exec Suite) the staff really makes this place special. We wanted to do a river tour but really do not like crowds, within 30 mins they booked us our own private river tour (highly recommended btw - $$$). We will stay here anytime we are in Amsterdam again, without a shred of doubt!!

E

Room Tip: Exec Suite is well worth the investment, you get your own area of the garden.

Stayed here for 3 night for a short holiday and loved it. Unlike the big chain hotels this place has character and charm to it. The staff is welcoming and very forthcoming in seeing all your requests get taken care.

Rooms are nicely appointed and the size appropriate considering where you are ! I had booked a Deluxe double with Canal View and the room was quite big but bathroom was quite small. My room was not in the main hotel building and a 1-2 min walk in the 2nd building.

Breakfast was good and service prompt. I ordered room service once which was delivered promptly but sans the cutlery.

Location of hotel is very good and in Jordan area which hosts lot of restaurants and cafe's. Dam square and the shopping street are 5-10 min walk away.

Overall a very good hotel !

Stayed at the Toren twice - once as a couple and the second time as a family and every time we stayed here we had a great experience. The first time we stayed in the main building - the staff is very friendly and helpful - always cheerful. They even remembered us on our second visit. Our room in the main building had a tub in the open plan bathroom - the room was very plush and rich - think velvet and a sort of tasteful gothic style - perfect for a couples getaway. The location is great - right on the canals and walking distance from most places - i like staying here because its not too close to Dam square which can get a bit noisy and touristy.
The second time we stayed here we were put in the neighbouring building - there was a king sized bed and a single bed for our 10 year old. The theme was also rich but a little less gothic. The rooms are not huge but it was just for one night and we knew we would be out for most of the day so it didnt bother us. We never had breakfast at the hotel - since theres a lot to see, do and eat in the neighbourhood.

Room Tip: They have triple rooms - always check with the hotel - rooms in the main building felt a bit more sp...

Not suitable for a business traveller. Noise from other rooms, slamming doors after 11 pm. Lots of flash decor but lacking on towel and furnishing quality. Perhaps ok for holiday - but if sleep & reasonable comfort matter, find a different location.

Wonderful location, accommodating staff, beautiful rooms, excellent breakfast, lovely bar/lounge area made for a most enjoyable stress free four days. You need not look at any other boutique hotel in Amsterdam as this is the real deal. Everyone was professional and genuinely interested in making our stay as pleasurable as possible. As we had to leave on King's Day and transportation options were very limited, the head concierge went above and beyond the call of duty in providing us with options to make our train to Paris. Every night when we returned from dinner we took a few moments to admire the canal houses adjacent to the hotel that to us became our lasting memory of the beauty of Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Stay in the main house and ask for a room with a jacuzzi. Don't fret about not having a canal vi...
