“Friendly staff, funky decor & perfect location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013 via mobile

Stayed for 3 nights with my girlfriend, and had a blast!
Very friendly & attentive staff, perfect location, close to centre but quiet at night. Our room had its own jacuzzi, with some funky decor & lights :)
Loved it - highly recommended!

The hotel appears to have been one or two old houses. The interior ground floor is very elegant, with carving, wainscoting and other features from former times. The room decor was consistent with the ground floor, but the bath is totally up to date. An excellent breakfast is included and can be had in the room. The staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English.

My husband and I recently stayed at The Toren for a long weekend. It was a very nice clean hotel in a great location, easy enough to walk to all the main attractions but far enough away for it to be a peaceful area. The hotel is actually in two separate buildings that have 2-3 houses between them. We were in the 2nd building that was only bedrooms and it meant a walk outside to go to the hotel bar, reception and for breakfast, not that this bothered us but I know people like to know what to expect. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the only down side was our window was in a lightwell which meant as soon as you put your bedroom lights on you had to shut the curtains so other guests couldn't see in, it also meant that when it rained the noise echoed as it bounced off the metal pipe in the lightwell and was SO loud. I do think however that most Amsterdam hotels would be similar as all buildings are narrow and long so barely any rooms will have views. Overall though a great hotel with real character.

This hotel is awesome! Great location! Minutes to Dam Square! Right around the corner to Anne Frank!
The best thing about the hotel is the staff!! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful!! They always said good morning and how was your day. They recognized us every day. Booked all of our tours for us! Breakfast was great and the servers were very friendly as well. The whole staff made you feel welcome!!
Our room was great too! We had a room with a hot tub to soak our feet after a day of walking around town! I am so glad I chose this hotel. I read my reviews from Trio Advisor and did well!!
I am returning to stay in December!! I can't wait to visit again!!

Room Tip: Nice hot tubs and you can get a view of the garden

As it was my first visit to Amsterdam and I was also celebrating my birthday, I wanted somewhere special to stay and the Toren was just the place. The hotel is beautifully decorated, elegantly furnished and maintained. The rooms are cosy, warm, stylish, filled with character and charm. The champagne, strawberries and chocolates left in my room upon arrival was a wonderful surprise and much appreciated. It is situated in a fantastic location overlooking the canal and within walking distance to many shops, restaurants, pubs, cafes and tourist attractions. The staff were lovely and friendly and always on hand with any help and advice during my stay. The breakfast is delicious and there’s plenty of choice. I’ve stayed in a fair number of boutique hotels, but the Toren is by far the best and I would highly recommend it. I can’t wait to visit again real soon!

You cannot go wrong booking this hotel. It is in a great location in the city. Upon arrival, the front desk staff we very helpful and courteous. We stayed in the "annex" building, a short walk to the main building. The room was exactly what we expected, with a large double bed and a single. Room size was standard size and quiet. The room was very clean, fresh towels every day. We stayed for 4 days and were pleased with the helpfulness of the staff for assisting us on places to see. We had drinks and food in the bar, both of which were excellent. You cannot go wrong booking this hotel.

This is one of the most beautiful, unique and charming boutique hotels that I have ever stayed in. The service is exceptional, even before arriving in Amsterdam they provided information about everything, answered questions and provided insight. The location is great, the rooms are warm and comfortable, slept like a baby and actually used the 2 person jacuzzi twice after two long days on our feet sightseeing. The bar which also serves as a place for breakfast is one of the most coolest and unique ones you will ever see in a hotel. If you want a beatiful boutique hotel experience then stay at The Toren.

Room Tip: Garden room suite on the first floor of the main building is great and has its own patio... Loved it...
