“Loved everything about the Toren”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Exceptional service, luxurious rooms, fantastic location. I will stay here again and again. Favorite things: bar staff and reception staff were super friendly. Bed was easily the most comfortable I have been in, ever, period. No exaggeration. Nespresso, mmmm. Chandelier above the bed in our room. Giant whirlpool tub for two. I miss this place already.

Room Tip: Splurge for the whirlpool for two. Ours had lights and programs and a remote!

I stayed at The Toren for 2 nights in June as a "pit stop" on a business trip in the Netherlands and it easily turned out to be the best experience of my trip. From check-in to check-out the gracious staff was so helpful. They offered me great advice on all the best local attractions- Anne Frank house (it's right around the corner!), Heineken Experience, canal tours, shopping, etc. The hotel is within walking distance of many other attractions as well as charming cafe's, restaurants, and coffee shops. The staff made me feel right at home in such a large city. My room, although on the small side (they even emailed me before my arrival and warned me of the small size), was just the right amount of space. From the beautiful, rich colored linens to the heated bathroom floor, the room was decked out with high-end quality finishes. The history of the building definitely added to the old-world charm. Basically, I loved everything about The Toren hotel and will definitely be staying there on my next trip to Amsterdam-- and you should too!

Room Tip: Rooms are quite small, so you might want to upgrade to a larger room if traveling with large/many ba...

I booked this hotel on the recommendation of a friend and the experience exceeded my expectations. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the first impression was very positive. This was further enforced by a seamless check-in experience where front desk staff were very warm, knowledgeable and helpful. My room was gorgeous and had an incredible bathroom with a claw-foot tub. The weather was cold and rainy whilst I was in Amsterdam, but my room was incredibly cozy, right down to a lovely down duvet on the bed - which was also top-notch in comfort. The hotel bar was also a delight, with moody lighting, a nice selection of wine, and a wood burning fireplace. I could have sat there for hours. Overall - everything about this hotel has made me want to come back...next time as a romantic vacation! This time, I was on my own but the ambiance of the Toren is very romantic and sexy.

Room Tip: The most convenient choice would be to have a room in the main building as there are two which are s...

The hotel is located in a silenced area. The bell of the Westertoren is enhancing a romantic atmosphere with its ring sending the echo over the canals.... We stayed in the Royal Bridal Suite which has view to the hotel back garden giving you more intimacy and small connection with the nature. The suite is elegant. The romantic purple, dark red and golden fabrics colours are combined with black and capucino wood colours. There are two levels: at first one is the bed-living room and below the bathroom. This concept allowed comfortable space for both rooms. The bed was fantastic soft. The bathroom is offering a relaxing tub with jacuzzi in a purely romantic mirrored surrounding. The staff is helpful and wellcoming. Jordaan district lies a stone’s throw away and within less than a 5-minute walk lie the Dam square with its Royal Palace. It is easy to walk to Amsterdam Central Station, Rembrandt square, Leidseplein. If the sun is shinning over the sky you can get warm enjoying the seats in the coffee shops and restaurants all over the city. ...and it's true The Toren is Design to charm you

The Toren lived up to its reviews starting the moment I made the reservation through an online booking agency. They immediately sent me an email, describing the room amenities and alternatives. I had to make changes in my reservation a couple of times and they immediately responded, informing the online booking agency of the changes themselves, saving me the hassle. The location is great: Peaceful neighbourhood, overlooking the canal, in the middle of (3-10 min walking distance) to almost all that matters in Amsterdam. The staff were all very exceptionally friendly, the room size was very adeqaute although it was the smallest type they offered, with a big nice bathroom, a free nespresso machine with good stock of tea and coffee, interesting touches in decoration and a room entertaining system you normally have in 5 stars. The details were surprising: The Amsterdam guide booklet in the room giving all important material details (like how many choices one had to get to the airport, at what time, comfort and price), how long the reception took to identify the best route to the conference venue I would go the next morning-instead of just circling it on a map, the in-hotel dining option from a Michelin-star restaurant (and for reasonable price), the umbrellas they keep ready for customers, and on the last day how they helped me dry up after getting a bit of soaked in rain although I went back just to get my luggage. The bar area has a warm glamour and the guests are invited to join personally. Overall it feels like you are a dear guest rather than just a customer. Good job, the Toren!

Not just the most gracious hotel in Amsterdam, the most wonderful hotel I've ever stayed in anywhere! Starting with the staff who trip over themselves to respond to every request and question, the beautiful views in the front of the hotel, the plentiful breakfast, the terrific location and rooms that are hard to leave this hotel makes you want to move in. Don't consider staying anywhere else. Just do it! Stay here and you will fall in love with Amsterdam. We stayed in both the main building and the annex. The latter has the advantage of an elevator. You never feel forgotten over there. Service arrives in seconds. The main building has proximity to the staff and lounge. Our room was not as spacious in the main building but we were grateful that the staff was able to arrange an extra day for us there at the last minute.

Thank you Mr.Toren and your wonderful staff.

We stayed here for three nights at the end of November. The hotel is in a great location - close to lots of lovely restaurants and shops, near the Anne Frank house and within easy walking distance of most other sights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel decor is rich and sumptuous which, in winter time, was very warm and welcoming. We had a double room with canal view, which was more spacious than we expected and very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a big jacuzzi tub! The hotel has a beautiful bar downstairs with real fire - this is where they serve drinks, snacks and breakfast. We didn't eat the breakfast which was 14 euros but instead ate at a nearby cafe which was excellent. The bar was lovely and cozy to sit in for a drink pre or post dinner. We would highly recommend this hotel for its location, comfort and helpful staff. It was more expensive than others but we thought it was worth it given the location, in one of the prettiest parts of Amsterdam and close to so many good places to eat. Go to Max's for Indonesian - but book ahead - truly fantastic!!!
