“cute boutique-like hotel, Quiet, short walk to attractions.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014

We stayed here for one night prior to a cruise. It is a 10-15 minute easy walk to the centrum and we actually choose it because it was sort of midway between the museumplein and the red light district and dam square. It is in a quiet more residential area so there is not much around at night (read no street noise!) There is a tiny bar with just a few tables in the basement for a drink and the vending machine was stocked with beer ( we really thought this was amusing since we would never see this at home) There was also a vending machine with all sort of intersting things (deodorant, toothpaste, apple ipod chargers, etc) The room was decently sized for europe. There is a short flight of stairs to get into the hotel which was not so much fun with the bags. Hotel staff were all courteous. Breakfast was in a room downstairs and was a pretty impressive spread of breads, meats, cheeses and fruit. They also had oatmeal, yogurt and delicious fresh orange juice.

We booked a triple room here. We have three singles in the room with comfortable beds. Not a very big room but comfortable with some good transparent furniture. The shower was in a wet room which was good sized and clean. The location is quite as in a residential area which is great for your sleep. Close by on the main road there are many place to get a bite and a supermarket too. About 25 minutes to walk from the Centraal station, or a tram stop is very close too and the ride costs about 2.5 euros for a single ride. We walked to and from the station which is a nice flat walk, and took the train to the airport from Centraal which costs 5 euros , which we found as the most economical way to and from airport. The staff are very courteous and are happy to answer any questions about sights and places to eat. Does have a bar and some outside place to sit too. Overall a nice stay , but do not expect large rooms.

Great hotel in a perfect location.
Rooms not huge but chic and well kept. Fantastic staff directed us to where we needed to be. The street it's on is very Euro which I loved. If you ever have a quick stay in Amsterdam give it a shot!

We stayed at the Arthur Frommer before and after our cruise trip. We booked 3 triple rooms and we were not disappointed. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location was perfect. A quiet street, and a short walk to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum. If you like walking, it'd take you about 20 minutes to get to the city center, and it's worth the walk. The Anna Frank's house is also a walking distance from the hotel.

The staff showed us in the map the walking routes that we should follow for going to the museums, center, etc. It was great to have that as you could easily get lost there.

I will definetily stay here again if I am back in Amsterdam

Room Tip: The rooms are small so if you are traveling with children, make sure you ask for a triple room or fo...

Just returned from my third stay here. Fr the second of the three stays I have enjoyed a refurbished rooms which are notably better than the older rooms on the top floor. The area is excellent as it less than 10 mins from the busy city but quiet and calm. Nice little bar in the basement. Very pleasant staff. Breakfast is a bit expensive though so I go up the road to one of the nice little cafes. Solid little hotel though.

Hotel in a quiet area of Amsterdam, about 25 minutes walk to the hub of the city and 15 minute walk to the museum precinct. No assistance to carry luggage up the flight of stairs to the reception area. Small room with modern bathroom facilities. Does not have a restaurant but provides snacks in the basement bar. If you wanted a hot breakfast it was boiled eggs. Very little tourist information made available.

Hotel situated in the city centre, 25 min walk from the main city attractions, and a few tram stops from the train station. The neighbourhood is quite calm.

We were 3 but were given a family room for 4, very spacious, modern and clean. The modern decoration is a bit kitsch but I did enjoy it. We particularly enjoyed the fact that the hotel is super calm with comfy mattresses, and that we could rest during the nights.

It is not a pittoresque hotel, but it is modern, clean and well situated in Amsterdam, with a calm neighbourhood. Overall, it was very good value for money.
