“Good location small room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014

Nice hotel and close to tram stop. Breakfast was good but like many hotels in Europe is overpriced. Our room was VERY small and if we stay again would upgrade to a premier room. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Situated in a quiet street, and within comfortable walking distance of Museumplein, this hotel is in a perfect spot. And a two minute walk will take you to a tram stop, where frequent trams will take you into the centre of Amsterdam in about 10-15 minutes.

The hotel itself is fine: clean and well-kept, with comfortable beds, good breakfast, reliable wi-fi, and wonderful staff. My only problem was that I could never get the keycard for my door to work - not in any way the fault of the staff, who responded to my (frequent) requests to have my cards reprogrammed with patience and courtesy! That apart, though, I had a great stay, and would very happily return.

Stayed here for the second time. We had a lovely big corner room. Breakfast had lots of choice of either hot or cold items. The staff were very friendly and always took time to talk to us. Hotel was in a quiet area but it was easy to reach the sites by tram or walking.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2014

We visited Amsterdam with our two sons for three nights recently and this was our first stay in the Mercure. The staff were extremely professional, friendly and helpful and the location of the hotel is in a very quiet and attractive part of the city. Breakfast was excellent and hiring bikes from the hotel very easy and highly recommended. While our sons shared a reasonably sized room unfortunately my wife and I shared what I can only describe as probably the smallest hotel room we have ever experienced ! Otherwise we would highly recommend this hotel for location and service.

Room Tip: Check the size of the room first

Not in the immediate center of Amsterdam, but 10 minutes walking distance from the Munt tower/flower market. The hotel is situated in between little streets and beautifully decorated, your room will surprise you, really it's not one of those standard hotel rooms, good taste. You think in between little street, noise...no, nothing we got a very quiet room, slept wonderfully on the firm beds and great pillows.
You can easily reach it with a lot of trams going down the Vijzelgracht, from there it's a 3 minute walk to the hotel.
Last but not least the internet is free and very very fast! You sometimes have those hotels that give you an internet connection for free and a paid option if you want to surf faster, not here, you straight get the fast one for free!!

Room Tip: Just ask for a quiet room, they're all very nicely decorated!

The location of this hotel is perfect: you can easily reach any point of Amsterdam, while leaving from this place. The customer experience is excellent, here: the staff left me with a very good impression. the rooms are quite big and the beds are very comfortable. The food is very tasty. I will definitely come back here.
