This hotel has the most obnoxious and un-professional manager that I have ever seen. Arrived early but rooms were not ready till noon. Every other sentence from the manager was "If you don't like it, you can go to another hotel" Last time I heard this kind of thing was when I was back packing in Europe staying at youth hostels. Got stuck in a broken elevator for 20+ minutes. Manager's response: "you were in the wrong elevator" Later he said "this kind of things happens ...it is not our fault.." Rooms were small and the interiors not well maintained. We paid through Priceline. Might be worth it if you can pay $50. The rest of the staff was generally good and sympathetic, though.

Stayed at Jolly Hotel from 3rd April until 8th April 2004. The staff and the hotel were excellent nothing was to much trouble. We were given a room upgrade on arrival at no extra cost. The restaurant Caruso is superb and the staff first class and the food out of this world for taste and selection,well worth a number of visits to try the different meals on offer. My wife and I will return again later in 2004. This was our first visit to Amsterdam a combination of staying at the Jolly hotel and a beautiful city and friendly people will ensure that we return in the near future.

We stayed 2 nights at the Jolly Carlton a week ago and paid around 110Eur per night (don't pay more than this). The room was okay, the deco was a little too 80s style rather than 4*. We were on the 6th floor with a nice view of the city. The best part of the hotel was its quality service. The staff was very helpful in calling museums for me after I had lost my camera in one. They were always around and very very helpful. The location is also very good, its right by the flower market with tons of beautiful flowers everywhere, very lovely!!
Overall, I'd recommand this hotel.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel between 15 - 18 February this year.
On arrival we mentioned we booked thru expedia and were allocated a deluxe room. I was dreading the stay after reading some not very nice reports, but the room was fantastic as was the service. We were amazed at the size of the room and the cleanliness, we loved the bed-time choccies and the bathroom I wanted to take home! We had a few problems with the automatic sensors on the minibar as we chilled our own bought milk and beer but this was rectified happily. We found the staff to very courteous and helpful. The only downside was the price of the menus. Good tip - Mcdonalds across the road seres hot criossants and cappuccino! Loads of lovely restaurants for all tastes and budgets on the doorstep! Would definately return to this hotel.
