“Clean and central, but..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

The hotel definitely did not match the images on the webpage. However, it was centrally located, and being close to the flower market for me was an advantage. The bathroom was perfect. The beds were uncomfortable, and the pillows were lumpy.

Location of the hotel was great! We found it easily from Central Station, and it was also central to all attractions.Staff were all friendly whilst checking us into our room and upon leaving they were happy to arrange our taxi. Room was spacious and comfortable enough for two!

I liked the location of this hotel, right in the city centre. The staff were great, polite, professional and very helpful. We did arrive too early so they kept our luggage until the check in time, which gave us some freedom to walk around the city, have lunch and come back. The room was quite small and clutered with 2 chairs. The TV was not LCD as it was confirmed and the veranda floor was disgraceful and dangerous with slabs that have big gaps between them and are not joining together at all. I was so happy to have a veranda but then to afraid to use it... The rest was fine, shower worked well every morning, everyday they come, clean the room, change towels if they are dirty and leave there some coffee, tea and sugar. The decoration is very old and the carpet in the bedroom was in need of an update but room was really clean.

Location of this hotel is amazing, couldn't really get much closer to the centre for the value we paid. Very friendly staff which were fast at checking us in even when there was a line building up extra staff came out to deal with the demand.

Even a locked room to keep your luggage after check out if you want to explore the city before your flight or when you leave.

Only down side was the shower, it was a little tricky to use with not much room due to a wall poking into the standing area but this is not a problem for smaller people like me.

Good location by the flower market and near several tram stops. Excellent breakfast (charged separately). Dated decor, but clean and comfortable hotel. Allowed us to check in early, which was appreciated.

The hotel is situated in a good central location. However, the rooms are very small and dated, the interior design is nauseating, but worst of all are the beds, they are hard and very uncomfortable. Out of a group of 6, only 1 said the bed was "fine".

We all had problems with the TV's, they froze or didn't get signal. They are the old design before LCD/Plasma TV's were invented.

The bathroom is small, with a bath/shower, the light is very poor, especially when you close the curtain to shower. Shower is powerful, although difficult to get the temperature just right.

Worst of all, the hotel has a small road/path running underneath it. Every night there is noise from drunk teenagers shouting, swearing and riding their mopeds. The noise would continue from 11pm - 4am. Even with the windows firmly closed, our sleep was all impacted.

The hotel dismissed our concerns, and refused to move us until the next morning. The guy just laughed and argued when we commented about the noise. Generally the staff were friendly and helpful.

One of the beds was broken and hence on a slant, to their credit they fixed it straight away. They also fixed one of the TV's. The smoking room was without an ashtray, which had to be requested twice before it was brought.

Overall I would not recommend this hotel, I think a score of a 2.5/5 is fair. This hotel is nowhere near the standard of an English 4 star hotel.
