This hotel is within walking distance to everything. The price was fair compared to other hotels in the area.

Some people might find the rooms a little small, but this is normal for the area. When entering our room there was a little bit of a smell, but overall the room was pretty clean.

The hotel staff was polite and helpful and also spoke english.

We would probably stay at this hotel again if we every return to Amsterdam, since it was close to the train station, and its a clean hotel for travelers on a budget.

Have not long returned from my second stay within the same year at this wonderful hotel, and still cannot reccommend it enough, especially for its fantastic location and price. Literally 10 seconds from the flower market and about 5 minutes walk from te raadhuistraat (the road leading to the anne frank house) this hotel is superbly located. The rooms are lovely, twice we have had a balcony looking out onto a great view. The rooms are spacious enough with good facilities (photos to follow!). Room is cleaned every day and staff are so courteous, especially the doormen :D Allowed us to check in very early and check out late. You should not be dissappointed staying here.

The location cannot be beat. Its just across the canal and up the street from the Grand Amsterdam but a fraction of the price. Right next to the flower market and a few minutes walk from almost everywhere. The front desk staff were great and we really enjoyed our stay. Second time staying with the Jolly chain and were very pleased with both this hotel and their property in London. thanks Jolly!!!

Stayed in the Jolly Carlton late November 07. Loved the location, being central to all major attractions. The flower market is right beside the hotel with the main museums, Ann Frank house etc all within easy walking distance. Great resteraunts and nite life exist right beside the hotel. Our favourite was the Argentinian Steak house around the corner in Reguliersdwarstratt. The steak was top notch. Service so friendly.
The size of the standard rooms in the Hotel were a little small considering the price we paid, - €450 for 3 nights. They were clean and well kept and so this was a small gripe as the location and the friendliness of the staff were the main reason we liked this hotel. The only issue I have with this hotel is that they promote the Airport Shuttle bus as advertised on reception. We thought this would be a convenient and cost effective way to get us to the airport for our return home. Boy was I wrong, we arranged at reception to be picked up at 11am, but by 11.45am there was still no sign of the bus. The porters on duty were extremely apologetic and were concerned for us. They did admit that we were not the first people to be let down by this service. We were panicing at this stage, fearful that we would miss our flight. One of the porters hailed us a taxi on the street and we made a mad dash to the airport and made it on time.
So moral of the story is, if you want a hassle free return journey home, avoid at all costs the airport shuttle bus that is advertised at this hotel and I imagine at other hotels in Amsterdam.
